Wyke too one dimensional for my liking. A bit slow and immobile with a heavy touch. Decent in the air, but that's about it. I think Wyke can be effective and dangerous in the right team, Sunderland never played to his strengths and as you say that exposed his limitations. Since all we’ve signed are wingers it might be useful to have someone “decent in the air” to get on the end of their deliveries?

Yes I gathered that...but since we often sign players you consider “Meh” or worse then it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that we may be looking at him, and he could probably do a job for us on a par with Paul Tait or Sergio Ommel.

Well if its on a par with either of those 2 I wouldn't bother. Pirates got it right.

Apparently we are planning for two scenarios ….
One striker in if JCH doesn't get taken from us... Likelihood Loan.
Two Strikers if JCH does go …. One permanent and one loan .
Personally I think if JCH does go it will be late next week and we will have lined up Bogle or similar ready to come in.

Wyke is nothing more than a pogo stick with a head on top - cross it in fine - otherwise....

"Hallam Hope [Carlisle - Swindon] Undisclosed"
I thought Swindon were whinging they could only to meet 25% of Bennett's wages? Sounds more like that's all they think he' now worth!

Not disagreeing with you as I would expect this -- But where have you heard it ?

It's fairly vanilla though and certainly logical if either scenario plays out.

Fair play to get him on a free; he cost Derby around £3 million almost 6 years ago. Brilliant signing if they can keep him fit.

Big risk though. Agree if he gets fit, they will have a bargain. If we had him on loan and he had barely played because of injury, if we then signed him, everyone would be moaning. Look at Little etc and he's played more games than Thorne.

They signed him on loan in the summer but he has been injured for most of it.

I hope we don't sign him. Agree. Did well at Carlisle, I think he scored for them against us at Easter ‘16 when we lost there, and got the Bradford C move and then Sunderland panic-bought him but having seen him play a few times am not overly impressed. Little mobility, little skill but effective in a certain formation. Would have thought he was more a GC player than a BG player. At least I hope so. UTG!

Yeah I wouldn't have wanted us to sign him as we have enough injury cases already and you can really gamble on players like that with a small squad.
