From Derby on Loan.
Welcome Jayden!
"The Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of winger Jayden Mitchell-Lawson from Derby County on a deal until the end of the season.
Described as an ‘energetic and skillful winger’ the youngster is the first signing of the January transfer window and arrives ahead of a busy week, as Rovers entertain Stevenage in the Leasing.com Trophy before hosting Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
Starting his career at Swindon Town, the winger arrived at Derby County in the summer of 2016, working his way through the U18’s ranks at Pride Park and progressing to be an inaugural member of the U23’s setup.
Speaking about the signing, Manager Ben Garner said, "Jayden is an exciting talent who has developed through the Derby County Academy in recent seasons and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.
“He is a player I have watched over the last 18 months & the recruitment team have also done a lot of homework on him. The staff at Derby speak very highly of Jayden & we thank them for their help in getting the deal done so smoothly.
“Jayden showed a strong desire to join us which was important. His attributes will add to what we already have in the squad and we are pleased that we have been able to conclude the deal early, ahead of what will be a busy week for the club, with two important fixtures at the Mem.”

www.dcfc.co.uk/teams/player/jayden-mitchell-lawson Jayden Mitchell-Lawson is an energetic and skilful winger who can also cause opposition defenders plenty of problems with this technical ability. He was an integral part of the Under-18s’ side during his two years as a scholar before stepping up to the Under-23s after signing professional terms. The wideman, who arrived from Swindon Town in 2016 alongside Jayden Bogle, continued to show progress with the Under-23s and he went on to make his first-team debut in March 2019 as he came off the bench in a 0-0 draw at home to Stoke City under then manager Frank Lampard. He had, before that, been an unused substitute for the first-team on a handful of occasions and regularly trained with the squad. Capable of playing on either wing, Mitchell-Lawson will be keen to maintain his progress under new manager Phillip Cocu during the 2019/20 campaign.

Looking at Twitter Derby fans have been saying he should be starting there or at the very least be in the matchday squad.
Sounds like he highly rated there so hopefully he will start games unlike previous loan signings who for some reason played a couple of games and that was it and then next minute they are playing in the premiership.

How refreshing to see a manager identify our weaknesses, say he'll make signings, and then sign someone all only 6 days into the window. No waiting till the last few days of January, no excuses about how difficult transfers are, high wage demands, agents etc etc... One more, permanent, expected this week too.
Welcome aboard Jayden!

One thing for certain is that he can't be any worse than our present wingers! Good news that he can play on either flank. Does this mean the end of 5 at the back/wing backs?

Another double barrelled surname JCH, THD and TUN already here. Can we afford all the extra lettering on the shirts?

Perhaps we should see how he plays as a wing-back then! With two very inexperienced centre-halves along side it can't be easy, but his arrival will certainly give us a possibility to change the dynamics of the team.

Another double barrelled surname JCH, THD and TUN already here. Can we afford all the extra lettering on the shirts? That's HOW we finance these deals and is part of our wider strategy. Sign players with long names - the longer the better - watch the money roll in when the shirts are sold. Genius.
