There's an article "The Long Read Josh Barrett on his second chance as a Royal" which gives us a good insight to him and football.
Clearly had some ups and downs but the previous Reading Manager clearly believed in him so if our new Manager can do the same we might have a real quality player, Reading apparently have quite a large % on any future transfer which also says alot!

Not double-barrelled so does that mean we are running out of letters?

What position is he? And Pirate what do you know about him? Pretty much what the first reply said...links midfield and attack.

What position is he? And Pirate what do you know about him? Do you really think that Pirate wasn’t fully consulted before this transfer went through? 😊

Not double-barrelled so does that mean we are running out of letters? No, it's an equal opportunity signing.

I've seen him a few times and if BG can get him performing like he has at U23 level it could be a good signing. Barrett, Danny Loader and Michael Olise have been a few of the standout performers for the Reading U23s over the past year or two.

When did Pirate actually post about any player we signed? Although looking at that YouTube video I don't think we need anybody to tell us what he's capable of, he looks a decent signing if it comes off, plus good JCH is following him on Twitter as that must mean he's not off anywhere just yet. Now all TW has to do is move on Bennett, Reilly, Nichols and Mensah in January. Thankfully it looks like @bfc_discussions were wide of the mark when they suggested Bogle was a done deal.

If this signing happens following on from the loan earlier this is really good news. Will take a massive load off of JCH if he is staying. At last we will have pace and players who can beat their man and finish.

Anyway a couple of crackers v Plymuff here assuming he's No 39, it looks like he opperates wide on the left rather than as a striker?

Very refreshing to see players coming in early doors and this looks a permanent singing, I personally feel very happy with Ben garner behind the wheel and really can see after TIME this could be the next stage to pushing on up a level, won’t be this season but in couple of seasons time we could be real contenders

He played from the left in that game, but is mainly an attacking central midfielder.

Matthews looked ok sir the first few games, then he lost his confidence. He might suit Garner's style more, but not sure if we have room for both. When we have no fit right back etc.
