No. Signings like Kenneth, Virgo and managers like McGhee. Cost us nothing except their wages but what a waste. Wasn’t the likes of Kenneth reported to be on like 2.5k plus too? Back when we handed out money to players looking for their last few clubs. The players you’ve listed actually made appearances. Terrible ones, but appearances nonetheless. With Mensah we may as well have thrown 250k + into the nearest drain on Muller Road. Yeah but is that his fault? I’m sure Mensah wanted it to work out here. Players like Kenneth and Riordan, I’m not so sure.

Swindon reportedly after Brett Pitman. He isn't going to be cheap either!!!!
Wellens should either put up the money, or stop talking transfer business for a contracted player in the media.

I’m not inclined to necessarily believe what an opposition manager says.

I'm a big DC fan. But he did better when he was signing player's out of contract, giving them one year deals. He struggled when he gave out longer contracts. Bennett, Nichols etc. Just our luck. Player's on short deals did well and went for a fraction of the price. Player's on longer deals, did rubbish and we got stuck with them! Think he panicked after Taylor and the 🐍. Went the opposite way. Yeah that's the irony of it all, the ones we wanted on one year deals got the 3 year treatment. A very poor judge of players in league one. Payne Nichols and Bennett alone have probably resulted in at least one of the millions on the debt. The trouble is no player is going re-locate and sign for us on a permanent basis with just a one year deal. It’s something we have to accept the same as every other team. No point eating ourselves up working out how much a player has cost us with wages, fees etc. What’s the point?

See the Swindon manager has confirmed that he is on a high wage. He has said he wants to sign him, but he's on a very good league 1 wage, not to mention league 2. He goes on to say, that they could only afford to pay 20-25% of what we are paying him! Does anyone know how long he has left on his contract?? So even if we can loan him out, I expect we will end up paying the majority of his wages. I’d like a Ferrari but don’t stand outside the showroom looking at them hoping the salesman will come out and let me have a 75% discount. Swindon should ferk awf and do their shopping elsewhere. water taking chancers.

It probably helps negotiations when you know you’re not trying to buy a Ferrari and you have the knowledge that the dealer just wants to get rid of the car and will take pretty much anything!

Seems like the rumours of a £4k plus a week contract are true. That will cost the club £300k plus in wages alone unless he can be moved on before the end of his contract. Sounds to me like he will want a very big pay-off to walk away from his contract.
BG is really hamstrung with so much of his budget tied up with Bennett, Nichols and Mensah. Could reshape the squad with a wages budget of £400k to £500k or so tied up in these three.

One of those rare occasions where we've tried to do a Peterborough and sign a bright young spark from non-league in hope of unearthing a gem and it greatly failed.

Kind of life the past few years with another... Perhaps BG wanted to try a few heads outside of the league whilst the transfer Windows open as he might not of had a real chance (as said in the BP article) to see much of the training ground. It's been a hard slog to come in as manager at Christmas, and whilst the Window is open, trying to get some business done with a group of players he doesn't even know if and who can work in his system yet. I'm as unhappy as the next gas-head at no wins in 5, but I can appreciate the difficulty here. Had BG won 1, and drew another, I think the mood would be different towards him, and I can see why even that 1 win might not of come yet. 🤞 Hopefully Bennet can be told the same as TN, followed by some swift and positive recruitment. Perhaps it's all just a ploy by Bennett to try and force the club to buy up his contract, as how can he look good for Swindon but always poor for us? Pretty sure it looked like he was chewing gum last night, how can anybody play football and do that? The likes of Bennett, Nichols & Mensah (plus "sicknote" Little?) probably mean it'll be impossible for BG to sign the quality he needs to play decent football.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking hell! Remember when DC spoke about no more journeymen on long contracts? Excluding loans, he's played for 4 clubs, including us. Lazy bugger, but not a journeyman.

Two really, Hamer was signing it all off 3 really Wael hired Hamer to sign off the right deals! What is the point of blaming ex employees for our current plight regarding underperforming expensive players surplus to requirements? We are where we are. It's the job of the new manager to sort out these issues. It's the job of the owners to give him the time and resources to do so.
