I do not change my views unlike the garner out mob I don't think you quite get it. You're perfectly entitled to your opinion and if you don't think Garner is the right man for us than that's absolutely fine. However some of the stuff you've posted goes beyond an opinion on football thats the part I have an issue with. Football opinion & sympathy for someone having a hard time personally are two separate things - I don't think you've grasped that yet Seriously, ban. If this forum was run by the club, they would rightly close it down in the light of the personal abuse being given to one of its employees.

I still think a lot of people need to apologise. I don’t plan on singling anyone out but reading this thread suggests many posters should do the right thing, hold their hands up and admit their mistake. Then we all move on and support the club, team and manager.

I hope his family are ok but from a jobs point of view he isn't getting the results and whatever his family issues it could make his job become even more difficult. I cant see this guy turning his fortunes around with us and I think it's best for him,his family issues and us the club to part ways. I'm not being heartless I just think the guys out of his way as a manager and with this family issue it's not going to get any better.

Your posts weren’t ones I had an issue with. You expressed your concerns over the football and that’s fine. It’s the personal abuse aimed at him as a human being I find distasteful. Certainly he deserves to take the blame for the results - it’s what he’s paid to do - but some of the things said were unacceptable in my view. FWIW I think he could be a decent manager and given time things could work well but that is extremely subjective and only time will tell. But even if he turns into a worse version of Paul Buckle I still wouldn’t say some of the things that others have aimed at BG.

Dont think he has had a fair chance to prove himself lots of injuries and unperforming players, slumps occur at most teams posh, wyscum, Sunderland, Bournemouth all are on dodgy runs. He will come back and prove you and others wrong, were you happy with the dour football Father Ted served ip?

For anyone that is slating a man who is currently going through family problems as serious as his you should be ashamed, as Bristol rivers we are and should be a club that supports all its members, whether it be fans, players, mangers, coaches whatever. Yes the results haven’t been what we wanted but he is a human being and so are we, sometimes there is a case where football isn’t as important as real life, but personally I see this as an opportunity to show what kind of club we are, next game it would be magical to hear Ben garners name sung loud and proud, not because of what he has done for us result wise but because he is our manager and we are a family!

Attendances were down if we were playing attacking football that was attractive to watch we should have been getting 9.5k, I found it boring but appreciated the results, but we had our fair share of luck and the run was never going to go on it was sustainable IMHO.

Possibly but it’s not like it was just a run of good form. We were consistently very good at picking up points for 12 months , we had no really bad patch in that time. If we’d employed Maher or someone else from within we’d probably be still in the top four because they could see what was working and it’s ALL ABOUT GETTING RESULTS. Saying we were all fed up with the way things were going as some have is ludicrous.

We ve lost some crucial players this season to injuries, Hare was looking great, Tom Davies solid, Jaak outstanding, then Abs Ollie C, and JCH the squad has not enough depth to cover those. THD looks very good but is always missing lots of games, and Mark Little could have had better luck. We have big earners not performing Benno and Nicho, it will take time to transform the squad. We will hit some form soon once we get some injured players back in the fold.
