but we win and results count - personally speaking I don’t give a sh** about the style of the football - trying to play like Brazil is difficult with players that we will attract in league 1 surely it would be more entertaining to challenge for playoffs and even dare I say chase promotion to play championship football? Tippy tappy football all the way to league two sounds hellish to me. Cant see what is entertaining about that. we were winning and in 4th - my view is that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Certainly not at such a crucial time. I would sooner see a team win playing ugly than lose trying to play pretty

Results and entertainment were better under GC based on so far. Are you joking? That was every bit as bad as every other GC offering. No, I'm definitely not joking. It was much worse than the performances under GC. We have apparently had 2 shots on target in 5 games. I don't think it was ever that bad under GC. It depends what you call entertaining. Winning was entertaining for me, and the players always put in a shift under GC. Entertaining doesn't need to be tippy tappy football. It can be a full blooded challenge to win the ball.

I expected us to slide down the table, regardless of whether GC or BG were in charge. I didn’t expect us to be this good at doing it though! Early days still for Ben and unfortunately took over the club in a false position IMO. Genuinely think that’s why there’s such a poor reaction on here. We were third or whatever and now we’re 12th in just a few games. I’m not phased by it. We were never gonna go up and were never challengers. Think it’s ridiculous that people are on his back already but that’s football. So you have first hand experience of his training sessions and dressing room team talks then? Don’t see the relevance?

Results and entertainment were better under GC based on so far. Results yes. I can honestly say that, the second half of Southend, Shrewsbury and Ipswich apart, I wasn't entertained by a Coughlan team. That's 3 games in a year. Give the bloke a chance! We weren't always entertaining under GC but we were consistent at being competitive and we are that bad to watch under GC that I believe we were both more entertaining as well as obviously getting much better results.

I don’t see that much has changed since GC left. He realised after early poor results that he needed to play a back three with wingbacks. The football tended to be dire and most opposing teams played better football but we managed to grind out the results, indeed we all blamed the sh** being served up as the reason why attendance figures were down. BG has inherited the same squad and for most of his games has kept to the wingbacks system, he doesn’t have a recognised right back due to injury’s so has little choice. Indeed today there were moans that he didn’t bring on the new loanee from the start, but he is not going to play a right wingback and a right winger! We need to understand that little is going to change in the short term due to the players available, and the quicker we do that the less poisonous this forum will be. The run in will be tough The football won’t be pretty Injured plays will start to return and there may still be one or two new faces We need to stay behind the manager and his team, remember we are the 12th man BG and his team are doing their best for the Gas and, performances will improve. Keep the faith. UTH Ya we could always change the the name of the club to p Rick

How can anyone compare today/Garners reign to Coughlans football?! This is 50x worse. The defence makes more errors, the midfield don’t support the defence or attack and JCH looks completely disinterested. There is no direction on the pitch at all, at times you can literally see players confused as to who’s supposed to do what. Whilst we didn’t play fantastic football before, the players had direction and knew what they were supposed to do. Disinterested means unbiased. The word you want is uninterested.

Meanwhile in Nottinghamshire: “Graham Coughlan says the result leaves him ‘heartbroken”. I know some think we’ve gone backwards but pretty sure we were heading there anyway which was why he bailed. Attack of Vertigo

Whilst we didn’t play fantastic football before, the players had direction and knew what they were supposed to do. Yep under Coughlan we were hard to break down created chances and played successful percentage football. The football under Garner so far has been like watching a bunch of kids try to play like Barcelona. The build up has completely changed, under Coughlan we went narrow and long with a quick tempo to JCH but weve hardly done that at all under Garner what we’ve done is try to play like a tippy tappy team and I’ve said all season we haven’t got the players to do that and all the fans that were crying out for us to change our style can now see that , how they couldn’t before well I wonder how much they actually know about football. Be careful what you wish for as the saying goes. We’re now back to where we were last season under DC trying to be a slow patient passing team without the players or no how to do it. If Garner gets patience from the board and we can get loads of players out and loads of players in then maybe next season we can be successful keeping it on the deck with a slower build up but time isn’t something football managers usually get when the performances and results are terrible. And so far it has been bloody terrible.

... and no progress on the training ground development, media reports that the budget was to be cut this transfer window despite being near the top of the table and the club up for sale.

What happened to the strength of character in there and the honest group of goiys?
Maybe it's what we've lost that made all the difference in individual games?

Our players certainly didn’t look hungry for the ball. A few times when we won it in defence our midfield just turned their backs on the player with the ball and just started jogging up the pitch . Compare that to teams we’ve played recently and how quick they counter with great movement and every player doing their best to make themselves available for a pass and we just look so sh**e its unreal.

Sorry was replying to Roverdrive Not sure what his training sessions have to do with anything - after all, I said he's a coach. Pretty obvious from his interviews he's not a fiery or authorative figure. Be very surprised if anyone in the dressing room respects him - never managed, never played the game professionally... And let's be honest it shows. I honestly beleive he's already lost the dressing room. And FWIW, prior to a few weeks ago I do indeed have as much managerial experience as Garner. I.e. zero. Sack the coach and put the real leader Tony Craig incharge, he wouldn’t be scared to do an interview:

Most know they will probably leave the club and some are just happy to sit on a tidy wage but they certainly don't buy into his ways and probably look at him as a soft touch. Maybe I'm wrong but not many of the players are trying to impress him and they certainly don't seem to care about their future at the club!
