The club can confirm that Manager Ben Garner has been granted a period of extended leave to deal with a private matter regarding the health of a close family member.
The football club will support Ben and his family during this difficult period and will be in constant dialogue to monitor what help it can provide.
We hope the privacy of Ben and his family is respected at this time.
Kevin Maher will take charge of the first-team for Tuesday’s Emirates FA Cup replay at Coventry, assisted by Lee Mansell and Adrian Tucker.

Maybe posters will cut him a bit of slack as we were beginning to sound like the other mob who were crying for their manager to be sacked sometime ago. Embarassing

Hope all of you giving him grief feel good. :-) Hurry back Ben! He won't be back! Wael's experiment to with an inexperienced manager has clearly failed. Stay classy, Topper.

Just want to say, I fully apologise for my previous comment criticising him not turning up for the press conference. That’s really awful news and he deserves all the time with his family that he can get.
I wish him all the best and hope his family member recovers.

I don't know what to say. I know what I think but can't say without knowing the facts. All the best BG to you and your family.

Well, if this is genuine, then I hope BG’s family member recovers fully from whatever is ailing them and perhaps then he can come back and sort out the team and their performances. However, if the last few years have taught me anything, it is to view a lot of the information that comes out of the club with a healthy degree of skepticism . . .

Maher did seem very subdued in the post match press conference as though there was more to it. Easy in hindsight I know. Clearly Ben is an intelligent man and he’ll have heard all the crap he’s got on here before and it won’t phase him.
Good luck to him and his family, hope he’s back soon

Thinking of you Ben at this worrying time, family more important than football, despite what Shanks said. We want a better footballing side and you will achieve that.
