We've signed 3 young players and we all know they can blow hot and cold from game to game, look at the 3 Chelsea lads and Smith & Adeboyejo, I can see the core of the team will still be the usual regulars. I also can't work out what BG's ideal line would be, hopefully not the recent 5-2-2-1, but if he now moves to 4-4-2 with two wide men then are any of our defenders, apart from Davies up to playing in a back four? Plus if we go 4-4-2 who's the ACM, Ogogo, Clark and Upson aren't and Sercs has never impressed in a midfield pairing? Why didn't BG just try and improve GC's 5-3-2 formation and then make bigger changes in the summer when he can clear out half the squad not just a handful of players? It will eventually be 4-3-3 so the playing staff have been told I wonder what kind of 4-3-3 though. 4-5-1 is technically the same formation but with the wingers a bit deeper. Would it be with a DM behind two CMs, or a CAM ahead of two CDMs? Would the wingers be inside forwards who cut in on their stronger foot, or out and out wingers who stay wide and get crosses in?

Ginnelly sounds an out and out winger, Mitchell-Lewis also similar. Barrett more an attacking CM, although the goals v Plymouth he scored came from the wing!

[br Thought the same. He might try kilgour right back again, with Rodman playing right wing. Then we can switch to 3 at the back if needed during a game. With Barrett as an attacking midfielder and one of the loan player's left wing. It's nice to have options now.
