OC's been Player of the Year two years our of three(?) he must have something about him. He's a CM, who can tackle, pass and shoot/score there's not many of those around. Perhaps having been impressed by Locks Bowyer feels he can take OC to the next level with better coaching.

I’ll drive him there myself if we get a good price for him. I like Ollie, he’s one of our own, but let’s be honest he’s a bang average league one footballer. and we are a bang average Lower league 1 club - well suited to us then

Steve Gallen at Charlton has a good eye for a player and if he thinks Ollie can do a job at Championship level then he probably can.

Ollie made it very clear he didn't want to leave the Bristol area in that interview he did with the Evil Post a while back. Things can change but he was pretty adamant about it at the time.

Ollie’s a good player and a great pro. He attracts criticism but he’s the most complete central midfielder we have.

Would we be due any money for him if he were to leave, as in, they'd actually have to buy him off us?

Not sure any L1 player would turn down a decent Championship contract at OC's age, particularly if he's mates with Locks and they could house/flat share. Plsu stay with us and he could be a L2 player soon!! JCH also looks an ideal replacement for Lyle Taylor if he does move on.

He must have at least 6 months if not 18+ months left on his contract, we must be due something, although we're daft enough to say as he's been a loyal servant of the club he can leave on a free! Although it'll no doubt be "undisclosed" anyway.

at the right price could be a good move all round, we now have others ready to step in /up OGOGO can do the destroyer bit and we have others who are better all round footballers, good move for Ollie to so every ones a winner!

Personally I wouldn't want o lose any player I'd have in my current starting 11. Our midfield have been completely overrun since we lost Clarke and Ogogo. Is he perfect? No, far from it but he's probably the best of what we have for that position. Upson, painfully slow. Ogogo, a great battler but not a great footballer. Offers very little going forward. Sercombe, good footballer but can't tackle and often goes missing. Clarke isn't quick but he's much quicker than Upson. Maybe doesn't cover quite as much ground as Ogogo but certainly not afraid of a tackle. Doesn't have quite the attacking threat of Sercombe but usually chips in with a few goals. He's the best allrounder we have so personally, I'd be sorry to lose him and have little confidence we manage to replace him with better. Exactly. This is the logic we need. In theory you have 4 players for each position. 2 starting strikers, 2 reserves. 2 starting wide players, 2 reserves. We shouldn't want to move out those that are starting. We should always be looking to improve and thus everyone's position in the squad should be *under threat* but in an ideal world you replace the player in 4th position with someone to come in as a starter. Yes, over-factors come into play: wage, personality etc. But simply put recruitment should be 4th out starters in.

Quite simply, will not happen. If it did, Ollie would find himself back into this league quicker than his old friend Matty Taylor. With the greatest of respect, OC is nowhere near a good enough CM for the championship level. Whilst I admit OC has not had the best couple of seasons I believe there is a championship quality midfielder within him. Three seasons ago, when he was rightly getting plaudits for a player of the season standard showing, there was nothing to choose between him or Fleck or Lundstram and look what level they are performing at now. The difference is the quality of the coaching and the standard of training facilities the three of them have been subjected to since then.

If Heston wasn't dead, the title could be a love story..

Whilst appreciating all the efforts and dedication that OC has shown to Rovers, it is the nconcievable that a Championship club would want him. In truth his proper level is L2. His last two seasons have been inconsistent at best.. He accumulates way too many bookings and thus puts himself under considerable pressure.
Where do these rumours emanate from? How realistic are they?
Next rumour no doubt will have Bennett linked with Liverpool.

I don't believe OC is a L2 player for a second. I also don't think he's a championship player tbh, but I didn't think Lockyer would be good enough for that level either.
We looked SO much better yesterday as soon as OC came on, can't wait for him to be back in the starting 11.
Whilst I don't want any first team players going, I don't really mind if they do as long as we get their value or higher. I can't stand it when we let our top assets go for free/cheap though.

Ollie Cltke is a class player and whilst he had injury issues this season, he should be a massive part of this rebuild in my opinion !

Ollie Clarke is one of the better players at the club and would be a mistake to let him go for a small fee

Can see ollie C JCH and sercs going this window, all 3 would be a great loss, plus hopefully Nicho and Benno out would leave some room for signings might be a busy time.
