Apologies if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but WTF was McCrystal doing to handle the ball in the box yesterday?
I'll admit at the time, from where I was sitting I thought it was Tom Lockyer caught off balance in the challenge, because I couldn't see any logical reason for anyone to put their hand up. However, looking at the TV replay, it is clearly McCrystal and he seems to be doing some kind of "Hands up for Tranmere" dance move. OK there was a Tranmere defender behind him, but the likelihood is that he wouldn't have got a decent shot away.
Spoilt what was otherwise an encouraging performance yesterday.

I don't think it takes a genius to see why he hasn't been near the first time from a starting perspective.
We all make mistakes, but I just can't see what he was even trying to do
Hope Trotman is back sooner rather than later.

Ever since he signed permanent terms with us he's looked nervous when going towards the ball. He lets the ball drop when he should hoof or head it away and he's not quick enough to do that. If your a quick center back you can let the ball bounce but he ain't so he needs to clear it first opportunity. Dunno if he's got an ongoing injury but he hasn't got the confidence you'd expect from a seasoned pro anymore.

It was an extraordinary act for a professional. Or even for an amateur. Can't think what possessed him.

At the time i think everyone that saw it had to have a double take and be like did he really just do that. I think even the ref did as for a moment i thought we'd got away with it as he took a bit of time before blowing for the penalty. There really was no excuse for it.
Before kick off i'd been worrying about McChrystal being back in the side, like others have said i think he's far too prone to mistakes costing us goals/points

Lockyer cb with leadbitter at right back ASAP, if Trottmans still out when leadbitters back from suspension.

That's two incredibly stupid penalties in the last 4 weeks - McChrystal on Saturday and Parkes against Aldershot.
Memo to DC - STOP PLAYING RUGBY DURING TRAINING SESSIONS!!

All I can think is that he fancied doing his old team a favour as there's no logical footballing reason why he decided to handball in the area.
Having said that to bringing liability prone Leadbitter straight back into the team after his last foolish suspenion doesn't make sense to me, unless we go 5 scross the back and use the FB's as WB's but I'd sooner see D-V start on the wing.

Lockyer cb with leadbitter at right back ASAP, if Trottmans still out when leadbitters back from suspension. I said the same on a Facebook group the other day. Will give us a more mobile defence allowing us to push further upfield. Only worry would be the lack of experience at the back and we might be a bit lightweight. Hopefully Trotman won't be out for to long.

Other than the handball, I thought McCrystal was solid on the day as were the rest of the defensive unit. We defend pretty well as a team and we generally restricted Tranmere to long range efforts that were pretty easily dealt with. I would agree that when fit, Trotman has been a revelation this season and would be my preferred CB.

My source at the club, tea lady Mrs Doris Arseburger (62) has assured me that he did it on purpose. He deserves to be hounded out of the club for this.

Is she one of the Norfolk Arseburgers? I think we have a family connection: a sixteenth-century ancestor of mine gave birth to several of their cats.
Small world.
