Mark Robins revealed afterwards that his payers had been told by their hosts that they were going to “kick them off the pitch,” – a claim, he added, that he felt Rovers executed pretty well throughout the game. ... But that’s not to say City are pushovers. You only have to listen to Gas boss Ben Garner bleating on afterwards about the fact that his side should have had a penalty for an alleged elbow in the head to know that Robins also has players like McFadzean who can mix it up with the biggest and ugliest in the division. www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/biggest-ugliest-what-learnt-coventry-17674490Makes the Bristol Post look like Gore Vidal.

Even if we had said that I'm not even sure we have one player capable of kicking anybody off the pitch, can't the club complain to the FA about Robins talking nonsense, given this is the second time he's accused the players of something similar?

In the inimitable words of the great Mandy Rice-Davies "Well he would say that wouldn't he." He's talking to his own fans, telling them what they want to hear. It's the "us against the world" syndrome.

Another ITK'r- "been told".
Banned.
Be honest thought Coventry were pretty cynical begging for yellows from a card happy ref. Keeper faking injury. Time waisting. Good team and deserved the W but I'd be embarrassed having that quote next to my name given Mitchell-Lawson was klopped by an elbow.

Did Robins say this to the ref before the game?? He seemed to book our player's, but not Coventry's in the opening stages. As if he was looking for it. Upson and Davies booked early on, but thier player's for away with similar challenges.

Probably set the seed with his comments after the FA Cup replay, not sure how we kicked them off the pitch at St Andrews when we spent most of the game chasing shadows! Although most L1 teams seem to know how to "play" the refs better than we do, being honest doesn't seem to pay in football.
