Attachment DeletedI noticed that the Gas are offering the 1995 retro shirt. It is hard to believe almost 25 years ago I was in my prime climbing over the barriers at Crewe after the away Play off game enjoying the customary pitch invasion. I helped hoist Andy Gurney at shoulder height of the pitch and remember saying to Andy can I have your shirt and his response 'f**kin take it'. Still have it in premium condition, unfortunately the shirt has stood the test of time better than me and is now a little to snug to wear. In any case I am preserving the shirt and will donate it to the Gas Museum in the new stadium, it will be more antique rather than retro by then! The night was one of the best of the Ward era, in retrospect we had a very good team and were the division's form team. Tilson and Stewart would be a consideration for any all time great Rovers team. We were losing with just a few minutes to go when Paul Miller scored. 17 May 1995 Crewe Alexandra 1–1 (a.e.t.) Bristol Rovers , Rowbotham Goal 97' Miller Goal 106' Gresty Road, Crewe Attendance: 6,578. I have a feeling the Gas only had 500 tickets so there probably aren't too many of us about who were there. Hard to think of a more enjoyable away game in terms of the result. (The ultimate for me still being the away playoff at Fulham when we won 4-0 and the we met the players when the team coach stopped at the chip shop after the game and Ray Kendall came to collect the chips with 100 gas heads outside all celebrating).

I was there that night and paid for hospitality to make sure I had a ticket. I gave a lift to a friend who never had a ticket and when we arrived early at the ground found the gates wide open so he sat on a loo for a couple of hours and got to see the game minus a ticket.

I was there. Great night. Great scenes after the game and a top atmosphere on the terrace. Got home very late that night!

Recall Radio Stoke commenting on our jubilant fans 'Sounding their car horns as they head back to Eastville'. I did put them right.By the way the terrific chippy is still opp' their ground. Was at Crewe yesterday.97 th minute winner. Attachment Deleted

Great night - was there with my son. Remember being underneath the big flag when we went on the pitch afterwards, and seeing Steve Yates outside the ground.

Apart from the final that was a season. Always remember birmingham coming down and paying to watch the game In peoples bedrooms behind the stand. Being in the away end against bath city in the cup but the crewe game was one of best ever and paul miller was such a underrated player. From memory was it the season at bournemouth when ward took of strikers when 2 0 down?

I’ve never actually seen the Miller goal. The camera man on the night managed to miss it. I remember the night well. I was only 6 and my Mum was in hospital that night. Me and my dad listened to the game on the radio and I fell asleep in the second half. My dad told me in the morning that we were off to Wembley.

I was there! Amazing night behind the goal, a mini Kop with all the singing and swaying.
Wycombe apart, that was probably the last time we mass invaded an away pitch...?
(I remember Blackpool away 90 too).

I was there with a mate. A long old journey but, wow, was it worth it.
To be fair to Crewe, they we very good on the night. Their big lad up front gave us a torrid time and they probably deserved more but our resilience was there for all to see.
When they scored I felt like my world was caving in and the brilliant atmosphere in our end went flat. It's funny because there felt like this simultaneous realisation between the fans and the players that all we needed was to nick a goal and we were going to Wembley. Up steps Paul Miller and job done. My favourite away night ever.
We also met Danny Murphy's dad in the chip shop outside the ground. He was telling us about living and working in Kingswood.
Amazing night.

Couldn't get near the Rovers players at the final whistle so just went up to Neil Lennon to say unlucky. I wasn't being cheeky or sarcastic. He was just devastated

I was there. I'm afraid I don't remember much about the game, but I do remember that I had been working away and was probably the only person on the away terrace not up to speed with the fact that away goals counted double. I was gearing up for penalties, when the Rovers fans erupted at the final whistle at the end of extra time.
Remember feeling elated, but a bit silly about that one.

What a night! Remember it well as a 21 year old completely care free. Rovers was so uncomplicated back then we just got behind the team and enjoyed a very nervy game. Playoff final was a hard one to take though!

A very nervy game on the home terrace to the right of the away fans.
Another great night watching Rovers.
