Have talked myself into thinking that signing him is a real possibility.
AFC Wimbledon have him on a season's long loan but I am under the impression that Bournemouth can recall him if they want to, say if someone bids for him?
If we really think that a top striker could be the difference between promotion or not then surely we should be looking to push the boat out to sign him? Can the dons really offer that much more than us?
It would explain why Clarke isn't rushing to sign a striker. Or at least I would like to think this is the reason as I believe he would be worth waiting for! Whilst we are doing alright and there is competition for places up front then there is no rush until January especially seeing as this could be the most important signing of the season. The missing piece in the jigsaw so to speak.
A cheeky bid for example pay off his contract as a transfer fee? (contract is up next summer) could do the trick...

no chance That was my initial thought but what makes you think that? I guess it depends how ambitious we are. Can AFC Wimbledon really offer a lot more than us?

League football for a smaller club who aren't going anywhere vs a bigger club who look like mounting a promotion challenge into league 2. Also knows a few faces from his time at Salisbury (Clarke, Brown etc). Maybe he believes in Clarke and believes he can help fire us to promotion?

Think we need to get over this "Bigger club" stuff , bit patronising in my opinion. The way i see it is, fail at a League club (Wimbledon) = Fall into the Conference, Fail at a Conference Club (Us) = Fall into Part Time.

Ok so why do you think Clarke is taking so long to sign a striker? It's not patronising, it's the truth. Sadly we don't live up to our billing.

The reason i think Darrell is not getting one is because we want a reliable scorer, who will play non-league and play on wages similar to our other players, and i don't think those things equate. IMO

It's taking so long because players that are better than what we have don't want to come here I would have thought.

I'm fairly certain that a player can't be recalled from a season long loan??

I'm fairly certain that a player can't be recalled from a season long loan?? A quote from a month ago: Bournemouth inserted a clause into Tubbs’ loan deal, giving them the option to recall the striker before the end of the season, but Tubbs says he can’t see that happening.

Have you seen their stadium, shopping and housing scheme for the old Greyhound stadium site on Plough Lane? Reckon they'll be rising up the leagues again long before we do.

We are after 2 proven goal scorers. 1 a 32 year old ex-championship striker. Also Matt Tubbs who does like our manager.
White to go out on loan to get some regular footy and hopefully get himself fit.

I always rated Daniel Nardiello. Pity we could not have signed him, he would have tore this league a new backside.

Nardiello has a great strike rate, 1 in 3 at present with Bury, signed with them until August 2015 though
