Hoffenheim were a small team, and so were RB Liepzig. The RB does not stand for Red Bull. It means RasenBallsport, which roughly translated means Grass Ball Sports. They were a fifth-tier side called SSV Markranstädt when they were bought by Red Bull in 2009.

This whole sorry story of a regime, makes my water boil. And now our council are gonna build an arena in Filton! They might as well build in f**king Gloucester! You couldn’t put it any further away from Bristol city centre. The whole thing is a f**king joke. Our council are building the square root of feckall at Filton; it is a private company who will get every penny in profit for it
The original Arena by Temple Meads would have ensured funds to the city after a period (I believe) of 10 years; methinks marvellous marvin will offered a job by the Malaysians once his tenure is up

At least with the Filton Arena the local area will benefit from people going there, staying in hotels, spending money etc, so it will boost the local economy. Also, with YTL paying for the Arena the council can concentrate of improving the infrastructure for the whole of North Bristol instead of just having an Arena at Temple Meads. It does seem like a wasted opportunity though as the Council are paying for all the infrastructure upgrades in the area and there will be a huge car park. Those things alone could have knocked a substantial amount from the cost of building a new stadium.

The day before they sh*tcanned the project the council agreed it was the best place for an arena. It would now appear that we the council tax payers are going to be paying Legal and General vast sums of money to develop it into offices, a conference centre (no longer required as one will be built at Filton), some housing as a vanity project for MM.
There was never a chance to build a stadium on the airfield site as it is earmarked for a new "town", aka a shedload of houses schools and shops to make profit for a private investor.
Look up "Bristol Energy" to see another over ambitious effort from the ruling party in Bristol; more money from the pockets of the populace

So they're going build this arena in the filton airfield. So would it not be s sensible place to stick our mythical stadium also, it has thus been discussed and dismissed already and I've missed it. They will have the infrastructure, parking, rail link etc, seem like an obvious choice to me. anyone with a brain would build it there With a brain and money.

Apart from the new hotel on Gypsy Patch Lane what hotels etc are going to benefit near the Arena, it'll be just like the Arena at the NEC, visitors will just drive or get the train there, then get away again as soon as the concert ends. What is there nearby at 10/11pm as the Mall will be closed, I few grotty pubs on the A38 and that's basically it. I can't find a major plans have been submitted to S Glos for the airfield just an overall vision for the site, there's nothing anybody still seeking PP for a stadium near the new Arena/Royal Mail sorting office as I can't see housing ever being built alongside the A38 flyover. A stadium/arena complex will be the biggest entertainment complex for 100+ miles

They will apply for detailed permissions as they develop the site over the next couple of decades. I very much doubt they would want to change their plans to include a football stadium. The link gives an overall idea. www.ytldevelopments.co.uk/developments/brabazon

The fact we now seem to have no stadium plans at all is probably the worse it's been for a decade plus on the stadium front.

Yes there must be lots of options, but it always comes back to the same thing; WE HAVEN’T GOT A POT TO water IN! But we've been told that finance isn't the issue?
