I hope the club intend to appeal against last nights booking. The referee was wrong not to give a penalty and added to his error by booking the young player.

Can you appeal yellows? We are appealing to get Adrian Tucker's yellow recinded though. Must be the first time a team has ever appealed against a booking to a goalkeeping coach 🤔

Pretty sure you can only appeal reds, although Hargreaves isn't going to ever get suspended this season anyway.
A public apology from the ref or at least via the FA would be appreciated though.

So you thought he would have controlled the ball and scored or laid it back, had the keeper not brought him down? I rather doubt it, the ball was virtually over the line. However, I completely agree CH did not dive and shouldn't have been booked.

Your argument might apply if the ref judged that the keeper denied a clear goal-scoring opportunity, in which case (under current interpretation) most likely a penalty and a yellow for the keeper.
Having said all of that, I am with Marshy on this.

Were his numbers missing from the back of his shirt at one point?

Were his numbers missing from the back of his shirt at one point? Yes, he had to change his shirt, as there was blood on it.

Anything they deem not a penalty seems to be deemed a dive and a yellow handed out.
Even if it wasn't a penalty last night, what was Hargreaves supposed to do? just get clattered by on rushing the keeper, ironically earning a penalty

Had a penalty been given I'd have rejoiced with the rest of you. Just saying, that's all.

I presumed it was a wind up - what does the ball possibly running out of play have to do with whether it’s a foul or not? If that was a get out clause you’d have late two footed challenges going in all over the place!

Honestly one of the most blatant penalties I've EVER seen that has not been given - outrageous. Mind you, we got one later on anyway and won the (a!) game so I'm willing to let it slide!
