I'd noticed he was in hospital fighting it. Very sad - and worrying. If he couldn't fight it....

Norman 'BITES YER LEGS HUNTER', became a popular catch phrase back in the day, like Bonetti got a lot of stick for getting 'skinned' by a Polish player in a world cup match(Qualifier for 74 i think)that moment and Cloughies ' Polish goalkeeper is a clown' comment, the stand out memories from that game, which cost England Qualification, Polish goal keeper turned out to be man of the match! apart from that hic up the only other blot on his cv was to sign for you know who!, but even though he played for 2 of my least liked clubs his personality and ability over ride those issues and he is one of the players who come to mind when you think back to those days with affection, fantastic servant to Leeds and the game ,and though his like is fast disappearing from the game, that catch phrase will ensure his name lives on, condolences to all at Leeds and his family.

Very sad to read this Norman was a hero of mine and part of the great Leeds United side of the 70s before he joined that lot. He was probably the reason they survived 4 seasons in the top league. Another sad loss to this awful disease. RIP Norman

Me and my mate would go to both in the 70’s. We’d get in at half one for free ( don’t ask ) and go in the away end. Saw Norman crash in a free kick at the Park End from just outside the box, would have killed anyone who’d got in the way.

England international Colin Grainger I think it was.Was a recording artist too.86 now.Still going. Attachments:

Fantastic player from my youth. I read that he enjoyed playing for city because he had more freedom to express himself in a less talented team than the great leeds side. Arguably the best signing in their history.
