“8 Minutes Idle” on the BBC IPlayer shot in Bristol good few Gas references even a character in the Cowlyn home shirt. One for the lockdown

Just watch hot fuzz much more entertaining, plenty of references to that old cow Lyn on that too. 😁

What is it, a documentary about Stefan Payne coming on as a late substitute?

Just watch hot fuzz much more entertaining, plenty of references to that old cow Lyn on that too. 😁 It’s not the most exciting film but it’s also not often you hear a fairly well known actor tell one of his C££y supporting colleagues to “shut up you shithead” Loads of Bristol scenes and the office in which it’s set is clearly a gashead dominated office. Not sure what the Bristol link is. I’d go as far to say it’s the most Rovers have ever featured in a main stream film, unless anyone knows different

Sorry I meant I didn’t know what the connection was with 8 Minutes Idle not Hot Fuzz

Re Hot Fuzz; is it just me that finds it a bit cringey that the local Gashead seems to bit the village idiot?

Pretty sure one of the eastenders scriptwriters years back was Gas and in early 00s there was two scenes where first irene got sung in the queen vic (fictional soap one as oppposed to the ex gas pub near the ground) and one of the characters was kicking a Rovers football about.

Also Maya Jama did a show called football virgin where she chooses Rovers as her team, i believe her old man or uncle is gas, however she has nowadays pledged allegiance to West Ham 😠

He was a director of the show. Used to flit between EastEnders and Emmerdale I believe
