Hi
I am sure you have read the stories which are being circulated which is suggesting that the Bristol Rovers Board has blocked efforts by manager Darrell Clarke to sign a striker such as Jamaine Easter.
I wish to clarify for you that this story is totally untrue. The board has made it absolutely clear that we will do all we can to support Darrell. The manager is currently talking to several strikers, their representatives and clubs and every effort is being made to fill this gap depending on their terms and availability. We will continue to support Darrell in his search.
My sincere thanks for your support
Best wishes
Brian SS

To be fair how often is Vitalgas wrong? They don't make a habit of publishing unsubstantiated rumours

He had one "scope" and is still living on that.

Correct be that doesn't mean he isn't repeating what he had been told after all he was adamant that there was going to be a full review following relegation.

Even if the board did say no to signing Easter - that doesn't mean they're failing to support Darrell in his hunt for a striker. If Millwall asked for a loan fee / 100% payment of his wages, we can hardly agree to that can we?!

Can't disagree with that although it's rare for a club at a lower level to pay 100% of a loan signings wage.

BSS said "I wish to clarify for you that this story is totally untrue" surely if we can't agree a deal then the storey is not totally untrue jusy not an accurate one?

Not sure if we are reading the same post from BrianSS here. He is not saying the story about Easter or anybody else is untrue, he is saying that stories that the board have blocked efforts by DC to sign players such as him are untrue.
No doubt that means that if the wages are within our grasp for any given player that we want, we will sign them.

I'm guessing by this thread from Brian that we won't be signing anybody today. Maybe they think this will keep us quiet for a bit until after the weekend at least when we're once against frustrated by the lack of firepower.

"If the wages are within our grasp" that seems to be the problem to me , we just ain't willing to shell out the dosh for a goal scoring striker. You HAVE to pay a premium for these guys. Probably in the region of 2k plus even in this division .

Speculate to accumulate.
We need to get out this division ASAP.
From watching 90% of our games home and away, I can tell you this division is very winnable. If you finish above Barnet you win the league its as simple as that.
Let's push the boat out and get the striker DC wants. Whether that be Easter or whoever.

Discussions as I understand it ongoing with Jermaine as with others best wishes Bri

Probably too simplistic but.......
Surely we would be willing to pay an extra £1 for entry to home games....that would raise enough to cover a decent wage?? Obviously not to ST and kids though...
