Surprised to see he's still playing-At Northampton. Remember we made a few bids for him but not until we were in a higher division did he agree to the transfer from Hereford where he was born We paid £150,000 after having a £ 100.000 bid rejected.Never really convinced me and recall despite his height he remained out wide for attacking free kicks.Chose Yeovil over us instead of the new contract he was offered but always felt we never saw the best of him.

He's just too good to be true.

Yep. I just couldn’t get used to losing him, no matter what I tried to do. UTG!

Kinda one we didnt get th best out of, but good player.
Kinda expected ta see him all these years later wearing a chunky knit cardigan crooning in a rockin chair.

It didn’t help by the blackthorn constantly singing songs about his lack of ability in front of goal. He did miss a few sitters tho.

His winner at Southampton was his crowning achievement at the Gas.
I always felt for him because he was very much a confidence player, and his confidence was shot after a tricky start with us. Nevertheless he was a decent player and scored a few goals for us. Shame he didn't fulfill his potential.

8 goals in 87 appearances. By my maths that makes him at least twice as good as our most naturally gifted player. How did we ever let a super-star that good go?

Had talent just no confidence showed glimpses like his goal at Southampton and his goal against West Ham

Scored against West ham in league Cup... Then did nothing... £150,000 and we chased him for about half a season.. Was the Tom nichols of his day.. Loads of expectation and no end product. I think we even offered him a new deal despite his lack of goals and yet he ditched us for yeovil. Easily forgettable striker

I liked him. 5 stars for effort every game.
Lacked the physical ability first time around but bulked up after his loan spell and came back as a decent impact sub

He is a good player who has had a decent lower league career
He struggled here, but i partly blame that on Trollope for not taking him out of the team and giving him a break. He was still young and needed some support.
Mental health is such a bigger thing now than it even was when Williams was here. Wonder what a bit of off field help may have helped a young man with expectation
