What Garner wants to do with the team is a radical departure from what Coughlan wanted to do. If Garner had come in with no strategy, no philosophy he wants to implement and got the results he did then I think he wouldn't deserve more time.
However he's got a clear way he wants to play, he's signed players for the future to help him implement it and next season he'll hopefully have the benefit of better facilities to help him train and attract new players. I saw from the Sunderland game, that a Garner team is capable of putting in a shift and more than matching a good opponent over 90 minutes, that's more than I saw from McGhee, Penney ect.
Looking forward to the football returning again.

Even the worst premier league sides will win a game now and then and look good doing so because the opposition simply don’t turn up. When you look at our record, two wins in some 20 odd games so one win every ten that rather suggests that now and then the oppo just never turned up and we looked good as a result. I can understand our revised approach. We all want the club to spunk money on big name players but it hasn’t got it fair enough so I am certainly not one of those demanding quality signings as I would rather we get our house in order. But that being said I do worry about the influx of youngsters because no other team seems to have gone so balls to the wall in terms of young players and not only that a mix of our own young players and loan young players. That sort of approach requires quite an eye when it comes to scouting because we know how so few youngsters make it. If we were going to spend money anywhere I would rather it was on the manager. A young squad full of loanees coached by a man with no previous experience who wins one game every ten. Actually, when you think about it, it’s classic Bristol Rovers really isn’t it?
