Would we get anything more if Tom Nichols gets Cheltenham promoted?

It's seems pretty unlikely we could build a promotion bonus into his loan deal, but I guess anything's possible.

Would we get anything more if Tom Nichols gets Cheltenham promoted? The world will get a flipping miracle if Tom Nichols gets anyone promoted.

Him and JCH would set this league alight, but his move South of the river and the fall out that followed, sadly rules out any return to us. GOOD💙💙💙💙💙utg

Yeah... Let's stick with Tom nichols instead.. Sh*t striker but a great bloke.. I'm sure we'd all rather have a striker that Scores us 2 goals a season and leaves us fighting a relegation battle than a 20 goals a season man and us challenging for promotion.. I'd take success over stupid 'pride' anyday Who’s suggested sticking with Tom Nichols apart from you and your straw man argument ? We ain’t gonna sign him anyway and he wouldn’t want to come back , so it’s a totally redundant point. It ain’t happening! If it's a redundant point, why do we have four pages of people commenting on it including you several times who won't leave the subject alone??

Sorry, don't you know the Gaschat rules on this yet? Please don't interrupt the constant repetition of chattering about a player who left the club three and a half years ago by talking about a player who's contract with the club expired 10 days ago. Isn't that obvious?

How fickle fans can be eh?
The most despised player to have ever pulled on the quarters, shat on us from a massive height, did the unthinkable, then slagged us off, had to move house because of it, had horrendous stuff sung at him when returning, but a year or so later, around 40% of people would have him back. I'm speechless!
Either people on here are not at all representative of those that go to games, or they are fickle beyond belief.

Yes, it’s pretty stupid but it’s become a bit of a Gaschat tradition hasn’t it? All ex-players have to have a WYHHIB thread. And in this particular case there’s no way he would ever want to come back, most (I think) wouldn’t want him back but none of that stops us getting to page 4. And of course the real reason he wont come back is we couldn’t afford him. UTG!

I don't know whether you've noticed Puregas, but football is a fickle business? A player who gives his heart and soul for a club for 10 years will be unceremoniously dumped the minute he is considered 'past it' claudio ranieri can win the PL with little Leicester City then get sacked the following season and numerous FL clubs have employed players who have been convicted of domestic assaults, rape and killing people, including youngsters in car crashes. Football is no compass on morality. If its morality you want on a weekend then I would suggest you go to church or help out in a soup kitchen rather than go to the mem. I wouldn't cut of our nose to spite our face if we had a chance to land a proven goalscorer even if the guy isn't my cup of tea as a man. You have to remember that taylor is an Oxford boy and has no emotional affiliation to our club even though we have this romanticised idea that everyone who leaves the gas, hold the club in their hearts forever. To him, we are just another club who pay him a wage. This is how football works. When players kiss a badge, don't be so naive to be taken in by believing the club is their 'be all and end all.' If your main problem is that he has played for that mob on the other side of the river (wasting 3 years of his career incidentally, where he hardly played) then I guess by your stupid logic, you booed Steve Phillips, Danny coles, Jason Roberts etc every time they touched the ball for us did you?

Adam Johnson would be the best midfielder in the league at this level but I wouldn't have him here either.... Before someone insinuates I am, ofcourse I'm not in the slightest comparing the 2 of them, just stating the fact that there's more to wanting someone to join than just their ability. The way he left and who he left for still agitates some fans, also things he's said/done while he's been there such as having a picture holding a toy snake makes it seem he still doesn't seem to care about our fans and, in my view, shows he has zero respect for us. Tbh I think he'll sign for Oxford even if they don't go up. Adam Johnson would not be the best midfielder in the league but he would definitely be the most expensive. Also, strange comparison? Can't think of any in League One atm with better footballing ability. Also, just the first name I wouldn't want at the club due to reasons other than ability.

If we could get him I’d stick him up front with JCH and top 6 would be almost a certainty. He ain’t the brightest spark for sure but at the end of the day he went to the sh** for two years to set himself up financially for life. I blame Lansdown for poaching him to stop us going up but Twatty was just a pawn in his game , even though Taylor isn’t the brightest he probably knew that but was willing to sit on the bench for two years if it meant he made a small fortune. It’s a short career and I can’t imagine he’d make much money once his career is over. I didn’t really like him when he was here but I realised that he was a cracking player for our level who did great things for us and if he came back I’d think the same again. You don’t have to like people to realise and appreciate that they are good at their job.
Anyway I can’t see him coming back to us for many reasons.

Someone sending a message to MT saying “Hello Matty mate, would you ever consider coming back to the Gas?” His reply is “in talks with a Ben at the min mate, can’t wait to be back”. Definitely a wind up.
