Whilst being a DC supporter at the present time (Did not think he should have got the job last season or at the end of last season) I do think that he has too many emotional outbursts and there are things which he should keep to himself. The last thing he must do is alienate those supporters who are at present behind him and I think those totally out number by a mile those against him - at the moment. DC must remember this and also appreciate the fact that supporters pay a lot of good money to attend whether it be home matches or in particular away matches. If he loses the support of the majority he will lose his job so I would suggest he reins in his comments a bit and concentrates on getting the team improving and playing better football. He must learn that there are always going to be a few idiots among a large support and whilst their actions are totally unacceptable he must be careful not to alienise the majority by pretty well tarring us all with the same brush and then having to take back some of what he says. We go into today's game in a good position but until we find our goal scoring boots every game will be a struggle no matter what the opposition. We have a job to do today but so do the Management and team so lets make sure we do our part and get along to the Mem in numbers. For the few who let the rest of us down behave in a reasonable manner and respect those supporters around you as well as the team and players. We can only succeed if we are all in this together. UTG

I think if any fans got a little butthurt from DC having a go they're the ones that need to man up.
In pretty much every interview he's done he's said how great the fans are. He had an interview the day after where he said the majority of fans have been great. We can't only accept when people say we're doing good and deny when we get rightfully called out.

Well said Steve I for one totally concur with the views you have expressed, though don't be surprised if some on here brand you a yob sympathiser simply for the title of your thread.

I certainly don't condone the actions of the minority but I think that it is almost one of the hazards of the trade that a Football Manager is in and he just has to get on with the job. I am sure it must be much worse for Premiership Managers because the more supporters you have the larger the "idiot minority".

Yeah, and I'd imagine that any manager who encounters any idiot minority's first thought would be: Protect the Players. You see throughout the country managers defending their players and DC's comments on Thursday were no different

Harley is spot on with this, the supporters/fans can't only accept the little pats on the head they so love to get, they must also accept the smacks on the bottom. The posters on all forums rightly have ever right to get on DC's back if he does not do his job as we expect but so does DC have every right to mention the idiots or so called supporters who act like silly children at times !

Totally agree with this, people can be a bit one sided and precious sometimes IMO, and we are 4th, it's not like he's got us massively underachieving! I would also add that I think he's trying to create a bit of a siege mentality as well within the squad, as someone said on another thread the other day some of the best teams have a big mentality where it's them versus the world, Jose does it, Fergie used to do it, it was also a factor in why we were so good in the Francis Twerton era, and while I'm not comparing him to any of those I honestly think he can turn into a top manager for us given time.

I am not sure thats it at all - I just think that the guy is jut being himself. He seems to speak from the heart and sometimes that means that you get emotional comments rather than thought out comments and on the whole he defends his players if he doesnt feel that they have done much wrong

Mansell's interview also referred to some of the abuse getting to the players. Sounds like both manager and captain are hoping to make people realise that even a small, but very vocal minority can have a negative impact. I don't think they're talking about the general grumbling when the results aren't great, but more so the vile abuse directed personally at some of our players.

I think we have a small Minority of Fans that we would be better off without as they are absolute idiots, but also agree that DC is a little too fragile emotionally. I think he knows his stuff, but worry he cant cope when backed in to a corner.

I will say one thing, i think the crowd was a little better today. Still not great, but loud at the start, quiet in the middle and better towards the end. Pretty much like the game pretty much.
