Man City legend Yaya Toure is training with Leyton Orient, with O’s supporters dreaming of a ‘Football Manager’ computer game-type signing. It is thought however that he is just keeping fit and will move abroad once again when Coronavirus allows him to.
It got me thinking, how much of a difference could or would a 37-year old player make in a league two/league one team when surrounded by average players? O’s fans seem to think they will walk league two if they were able to persuade him to sign. It reminds me a little of when we signed Walters back in the 90’s who was an ageing winger. He brought out he best in those around him in my opinion.

Walters was class. One of my favourites. Same here!! Considering his age, he was as you put it "class"

Best money I've ever spent on football seeing Walters stepover and dummy a fullback over and over again and go round them almost at walking pace!
Ranks up there with Vitas and Jamie Shore as having proper high level quality.

Id take Teddy Sheringham even at the age he is now, that bloke could come on with 15 minutes left and make something out of nothing every time

Walters is in my top 3 players to put on the quarters, was a joy to watch him and I can still see the raise the roof celebration every time he scored

Loved Wally at the Gas! Free kick was as good as a penalty for us then!
Edgar Davids at Barnet is probably a more recent marker (but a couple of years older)

Every time I see his name it reminds me of the video of the fans singing Ya Ya , Ya Ya Toure.... in a metro station in unison!
Yaya was a great player; so much energy! Man City players all seem to have energy? Maybe that’s what Utilita need to give us a bit more?
Here’s to sustainable energy.

Used to go and get his autograph after every game and he always chatted to me for ages. Was immense on his day and a mighty shame that he had the injuries he did, he really was class ! We were really spoiled for decent players in the late 90’s it was a great time to start watching them, i just about remember Hayles but then season after was amazing to watch!

Walters was fantastic, a pure joy to watch. Certainly in the 99/00 season.
Who could forget Andy Rammell's contribution too, pretty much single handedly saved us from relegation.

I could never understand why we didn't re-sign Rickie Lambert, although perhaps earning £2K a week at Rovers wasn't worth getting out of bed for, if you've been earning x10/20 times that, which is probably the issue now compared to when we signed the likes of Alan Ball and Walters.

Love that. It’s keeper’s side and he still doesn’t get near it. If that’s scored in the Prem today it’s talked about over and over.

I genuinely think Rickies hunger for the game went, he did everything he ever dreamed of well into his 30's, representing his country in a World Cup, no less and putting on the shirt of his boyhood club Liverpool, in fact even in his wildest dreams I bet he thought that was an impossibility when he signed for us, at the age of 25, and was getting called "Just a fat midfielder from Rochdale".

Yea, had a long conversation with him about this and I think going to Liverpool knowing he wouldn’t play much was the beginning of the end for him, I don’t think anyone could hold it against him though. Living your boyhood dream out must be immense

It ultimately failed although it fitted into the Barnet cycle of success followed by failure. UTG!

Off topic I know but it's Notts C v Barnet later in the Playoffs semis, not long ago that was a league fixture, they are playing for the chance of playing Harrogate or Boreham Wood in the final!

Mark Walters was a class act for everyone he played for' to have him at Rovers was awesome. I can still remember his goal vs the Ted's in a 2-0 win
