Mets sat down with Tom and Martyn to chat all things Gas. Both Martyn and Tom have been brought to the club by Wael and its fair to say they have both made a huge impact. Tom talks about how he has increased revenue coming into the club with the retro inspired kits the last two seasons along with revamping the bar areas to get Gasheads spending their money with the club. Martyn talks about how coronavirus has affected the clubs financial position and what the impact of Wael capitalising debt means to the club. He also talks strategy with a focus on developing younger players as assets and gives an update on the plans for the training ground. Tom also talks about his Martyn Starnes branded socks, which are for sale in the club shop and the pairs very cordial working relationship. listen.gascastpodcast.co.uk/276671/4752980-a-chat-with-tom-gorringe-and-martyn-starnes

Enjoyed listening to that, thanks. Gorringe and Starnes both came across really well, the football club is in good hands.
GasCast just keeps getting better and better, excellent content.

Another top notch episode, thanks Mets and GasCast, and also to Martyn and Tom.
The club's engagement with the fans really has been stepped up massively, which has been brilliant. But for you guys at GasCast to get them in and ask them all the sorts of questions we all would want to, is much appreciated.
Echoing pirates words, keep up the good work guys!

Big coup this getting these two talking so openly and honestly about where we are and where we're going. Everything feels more positive lately! I'm getting tommym9 some Stuart Sinclair socks for Christmas.

Just listened, totally compelling listen, well done for getting them both to talk so honestly. A few side shuffles by Starnes but hey, he's a politician.

Just listened, totally compelling listen, well done for getting them both to talk so honestly. A few side shuffles by Starnes but hey, he's a politician. He does dodge the occasional question, but if he answered everything and inadvertently weakened the club's position (or knowingly as is more likely the case, hence the dodging) I don't think many Gasheads would thank him for that.

He does dodge the occasional question, but if he answered everything and inadvertently weakened the club's position (or knowingly as is more likely the case, hence the dodging) I don't think many Gasheads would thank him for that. The two main questions he dodged were a question about how Wael gained the means to capitalise the debt and a question about Ken Masters and very understandably he can’t be expected to answer either for both legal and personal reasons.

I completely agree, sorry if my post came across otherwise as I don't consider the dodging of certain questions to be a bad thing.

good interview indeed. One thing I didn't like at all in Starnes' response about supporters financial contributions via last season's season tickets. I donated my money like probably hundreds of supporters did to the academy so why the hell can't he tell us how much money has been handed over - it's the supporters' money !! I can't understand why he wouldn't want to reveal how much !? Can anyone suggest a reason why he won't ? I'd say it'd be very good for supporter- club relationship to do so.

Martyn and Tom. if Tom Gorringe and Starnes ask you for any supporters' feedback to this interview, I'd be grateful if you could mention what I wrote in previous post. Ta.

I would say because it’s not been properly accounted for yet

I'm pretty sure the number of who did was mentioned previously and I was surprised at the number who did, a figure over 1,000 although what does it matter if it was £5,000 or £10,000? As far as where did Wael get the money from to capitalise the debt, does anybody really have to ask that question when it's pretty obvious.
