I think it's at Oxford City but I could be wrong.

Think this is a mid sixties. FA Cup match at Oxford City, remember the strange structures of the ground. We drew 2-2, after throwing away a two goal lead, and were lucky to get away with it. So the replay 4-0, I think Alfie Biggs May have got a hat trick.

I love how the floodlight is positioned in the middle of the stand and goes up through the roof.

That is some executive box! Football is a religion , I guess having a church pitch side sums it up.

That was in the days when the FA Cup was a great tournament. That was the season we eventually drew Arsenal at home, 35,000 at Eastville! The match was a non event, as we didn’t lay a glove on them and lost 3-0.

Red and white kit..... WYHIB ? I actually quite like red and white stripes with black shorts, but, for Rovers, no thanks. Wouldn't mind seeing us go back to one of our early home kits, sky and white hoops or black and white stripes, we'd need a third kit then. www.historicalkits.co.uk/Bristol_Rovers/Bristol_Rovers.htmDoes anyone have a record of change kits that predates 1980? This is the best record of away kits I've found footballshirthistory.weebly.com/a-b/bristol-rovers#I have very little idea of what Rovers wore as a change strip prior to this. Of course back in the day the change kit was only worn when necessary.

This wasn’t a one off, the red and white striped kit was our away kit for several seasons.

What seasons were they used, and did we always wear yellow in the 70s (I appreciate one picture has a date, but I don't know if we might have used it for more than one season?). Seem to recall that the pitch had an awful slope on it but the overriding memory was early entry (approx. 1 p.m) into the ground and gasheads having a kick around on the pitch prior to kick off to pass the time.

The goals from the replay (4-0) were actually shown on the BBC Sportsview programme on the Tuesday night. I remember returning home from the game to witness Rovers on the box - almost unheard of in those days!

I saw Rovers wearing this kit away to Reading. We won 2-0, can't remember the year though.
