On trial at Swindon apparently... He should be on trial at Bristol Crown Court for stealing a living for the past 3 years.

For all his lack of goals Tom always gave his all in games and is a very good footballer imo, unfortunately for him and Rovers he was signed as a striker so in that respect his contribution was 'underwhelming' to put it kindly but if we had had other options upfront i reckon he could have done a decent job in our underperforming midfield, if he signs for Swindon ,bound to score for them against us ! unfair to bracket him with Bennett imo.

In my opinion it is very appropriate to bracket Nichols with Bennett. Both players cost the club an absolute fortune and both players provided scant return for that investment. In short, both players were miserable failures at Rovers.

I really hope Swindon sign him 😂 As is usually the case with us, he'll probably score a hat trick at The Mem. More than he scored there for us in 3 years

Just my opinion but last season we were at our best with Nichols in the team.
He’ll probably do well at a smaller club like Swindon without the pressure.

Bennett and Nichols, both crap, both lightweight and both have scored 3 goals from open play for Rovers (although Bennett has played half the games).

Bennett and Nichols were bought for big money or big wages you have to blame those that got them here

What the f.... is wrong? People complaining about players still with us and still complaining when they leave us?!
People complaining about JCH on the Exeter thread as well; Wake up; who is out there to replace him? No one can do for us what he did in 2 seasons while injured?
If he stays and is largely injury free, it will be a massive plus for us and an equal - for our opposition!
We have never been in such a positive and healthy position as a club for a very long time; be happy 😂
And a Happy India 🇮🇳 Independence Day to all our readers!!!

We were always better with Nichols in the side because he’d work hard, hold the ball up and pass it to bring others into play. He was by no means a bad footballer. What he lacked though was goals which is pretty critical for a striker, I think if he’d even scored just 5 to 10 goals a season he would have got a lot more appreciation from the fans for what he did. Wish him all the best at his new club whether that be at Swindon or elsewhere, if he finds the right environment I’m sure he’ll find his shooting boots.

Wish him all the best at his new club whether that be at Swindon or elsewhere, if he finds the right environment I’m sure he’ll refind his shooting boots. Agree that he worked very hard largely because he was under such pressure from the fans, etc. I always said that he would have been a very good midfielder for us and he would have played even better in that position when you look at our lack of creativity there. You cannot fault him for effort but he lacked calmness when 1-1 with goalie and when running to goal tended to drift away from goal making a shot success even less probable. Always the best for him, Bennett, and all the rest who played and tried for us!
