We should really get a home draw this year with no loon festival on. I’m going for Oxford at home. 🐍 💩

Feeling a bit apathetic towards it this season if I'm honest.
Normally I'd have fun planning all the trips and marking all the important dates into the calendar. Train tickets to the Stadium of light, car share to Home park etc
Now it almost feels irrelevant who we get on the first day because the only way to view it will be behind a screen and any exciting away trips will probably not be open to visiting supporters.
Anyone else feel the same?

Yep a sort of disappointed feeling,I'm excited about the new team but living in North Wales we go to away games which as you say may not be open to us ,so that's a bit deflating.

If it's Ipswich away they may as well stay up there!

I'm looking forward to the new season given tht we haven't watched Rovers play a competitive game for nearly 6 months it will be good just to see us play again, even if it is only only iFollow as the summer signings look decent ones for a change, hopefully, some of us will even get the chance to attend games at the Mem sooner or later.

It's not that I'm not looking forward to the new season, really I am. Just not getting the usual buzz from the fixtures being released because they're not going to mean a lot to me. Can't wait to the Gas back in competitive action.

If it's Ipswich away they may as well stay up there! If it's Ipswich at home, they may as well play it in Ipswich. Until crowds are allowed they might as well play on neutral grounds at a halfway point to save costs.

Anyone else feel the same? Just about the same. I usually try and do the first away match so long as it’s not too far and have only missed last season at Blackpool over recent years. I’m interested as you say to see who we play, put dates in the diary and plan the first few matches. This season is so different but once fans are welcomed it will get better. With Scotland looking to have fans, perhaps, from 14th September and non league from Level 7 downwards from the beginning we shouldn’t be too far behind. But then thinking about the bigger picture, a possible second wave I can see us looking forward to going then the infection rate going up and we then have another government U turn which will put it all back to the new year. (This time being a sensible and understandable U turn) So overall, it’s really frustrating and likely to be so for the next few months. UTG!

So we play Blackpool twice (Home and Away)
Roughly 200 miles.
Midway point Roughly 100 miles is Walsall so for the home fixture we travel 100 miles there and 100 miles back = 200 miles For the away fixture we travel 100 miles to Walsall and 100 back = 200 miles = 400 miles for the 2 fixtures If we play away at Blackpool 200 there 200 back also = 400 miles so no gain on travel expenses Walsall would not let us play there for free I would not have thought so there would be the cost of 2 fixtures to pay for (once by Blackpool once by us) and I am sure it would cost more to rent a neutral stadium than opening our own so can't see how it will save costs over a season

An armchair Rovers supporter, Not something I ever thought I’d say. Strange yes, not as good as before but still a million times better than no football. UTG.

Fixtures have a way of repeating cup draws; Sunderland 2 seasons ago in League and EFL Trophy?
We seem to have drawn Posh early away in last 2 seasons.?
We have cup draws versus Ipswich and Ox so I suspect one of these 3 very early?
Also, we may be in for a surprise from this government and they may allow 1/3 stadium capacity very soon to see how it goes but not sure if that would mean away fans?
UTG

UTG Posh away seems like three or four times in the last couple of decades or maybe It just feels like it ? We always seem to have a tough start with lots of tough games , msybe it’s because we’re just not good starters but I can’t remember the last time we hit the ground running.

You are right; we have always been chasing from early season although last season we pulled it back until that fateful away day at Ipswich and the win there and then it all collapsed. Usually our first 6/7 games are forgettable? Somehow, I think this season will be different. Let’s see. PS So many people think there are so many big / good clubs in L1. That should be good for us as they will hopefully beat each other? So it should be a very tight season. UTG

Anyone else feel the same? I think many folk feel that way at moment in fact i read that, The National Confederation Of Apathy Societies report that due to Covid restrictions almost all members have recorded unprecedented zero attendance figures for the last 5 months and can not remember such fantastic figures ,ever, a real boom time for the industry! but it can't last and i for one will be glued to the stream thing at kick off full of optimism! up the Rovers!
