Rovers draw 1-1 with Newport County in their latest pre-season outing.
A stunning free-kick from Josh Hare saw Rovers take a first-half lead in the fixture, with the hosts pulling back level just before the interval through Tristan Abrahams.
The behind closed doors fixture against Newport County AFC provided further opportunity for members of Ben Garner's squad to gain competitive minutes, as the countdown to the new season draws closer.
Starting XI: Jordi van Stappershoef, Mark Little, Cian Harries (45' Trialist), Michael Kelly, Josh Hare, James Daly, Ed Upson, Trialist (69' Tom Mehew), Cam Hargreaves, Zain Walker (72' Lucas Tomlinson), Jonah Ayunga (69' Sam Heal).

Looks like Garner wanted to get some minutes into some of the fringe players and development squad which is fair enough. Would expect most of that squad with the exception of perhaps 2-3 to be on the bench next year, a draw against Newport County is a creditable one.
Guessing the trialist was Adam May?

Does anyone have any idea who the trialist was? Good to see Walker getting some more minutes. It looks as if he may have a role to play this season.

Well kept secret - I am not sure what kind of side Newport fielded but this looks for the most part like a reserve Rovers eleven. I wonder if there is a secret game coming up this weekend for the first eleven
