I’d be prepared to wager we only bring in 1 striker which will be a loan.

What are Mickey Evans and Justin Richards doing these days ? The same as they were doing when here. Nothing. UTG!

Tyler Walker, Marcus Forss or Rhys Healey would be decent replacements as others have said. Would like to see 2 of the 3 with at least one being a permanent deal. BG said that they were only looking to add one player, and that was probably a LB/LWB. So I would say that we'll only do that, plus add one to replace JCH. If you add in the promising youngsters, we do have 5 or 6 forwards on the books already. It'll cost too much to get 2 experienced forwards with a goalscoring record at this level.

The club will want to sign someone who they think could be the next JCH. The best opportunity to make big money is with strikers.
Daly and Ayunga are probably on peanuts.

Would it really cost that much to get another couple of strikers in on free transfers? Although our problem now is if we haven't already lined up deals then every agent now knows that we've banked £1m+ and also saved a fortune on JCH's new contract. I guess we either spend big on a known goalscorer like Healey or take a gamble on two free transfers and hope one of them can find the net regularly.

Anyone know why Healey has played so few games?
His goal record is excellent but only 64 league starts in 7 years is a concern.

Hopefully the club have 2 strikers incoming, both capable of scoring..You can have all the technically gifted players n defense and midfield, but if nobody up front is able to put the ball in the net then you are a little *ed.

I'm sure we'll get someone decent, and looking at the kind of forward Ayunga is, I expect it'll be a similar kind of player, just with more experience.

All good planning to replace JCH with multiple strikers but don't forget that we have to make it work with the new salary cap.

If BG said that it is a massive risk !!. We already have a mass of defenders . We now have a big 'double ' problem up front. Historically: we always had a second striker like Kuffour Duffy who can score 10 a season. I posted this issue a few months back . We now start the season with 3 strikers who have scored 2 goals at this level in less than 10 games between them. Firstly: if there is any money at all ( you never know ) it must be on strikers . Secondly : we all hope at least some of this money could be for a nominal fee and some on good wages to attract a free agent. We need two strikers as an minimum . We have now created a massive challenge not only did we need one striker to partner JCH but now two . Sadly : I don't think things bode well unless two strikers are found and proven which is a massive ask .

We know from last season that BG thinks he can work miracles with sod all, so his naivety makes me take him at his word that he thinks we can compete without a ball winning midfielder and without a striker with a proven pedigree at league level. I’m seriously concerned we are going to sleepwalk into a very tough season.

Anyone know why Healey has played so few games? His goal record is excellent but only 64 league starts in 7 years is a concern. My guess would be that he was a youngster at Cardiff and although he played the odd game in The Championship and even a few in The Premier League he wasn't deemed good enough. He did suffer a serious injury back in 2017 and was out for about 9 months. The rest of his appearances were half season loan moves until he made a permanent move to MK Dons last summer, and last season was obviously cut short because of the Covid situation

The 1 positive for me is I genuinely don't believe JCH suited how BG wants us to play. I think he would like a more mobile number 9 or maybe a false number 9. As good as JCH was, he wasn't very mobile. He's a player to build a team around. But he could bully the centre halves who marked him and the best forwards at league one do that.

There are a few interesting free agents around....Who have had good seasons in L1/L2
Omar Bogle & Sam Winnall
Also some left field ideas who have played at a higher level and may do well in L1
Elias Kachunga & Courtney Baker-Richardson

Hate to be a doom monger, but seeing as we lose £3 mil a year would it be a suprise to anyone if the £1.25 mil goes towards keeping us alive next year?
