There are a few interesting free agents around....Who have had good season in L1/L2 Omar Bogle & Sam Winnall Also some left field ideas who have played at a higher level and may do well in L1 Elias Kachunga & Courtney Baker-Richardson Not for me.
Omar Bogle has hardly played since leaving Grimsby nearly 4 years ago.
Courtney Baker-Richardson is 25 in December and has only made 2 football league appearances.
Elias Kachunga, 75 appearances for Huddersfield over the past 3 years and only 4 goals.
Sam Winnall has a decent record but I don't think we'd go for someone who turns 30 in January.

Hate to be a doom monger, but seeing as we lose £3 mil a year would it be a suprise to anyone if the £1.25 mil goes towards keeping us alive next year? It's a realistic suggestion . But if that's the case . How much longer can we compete at division one level and is it really worth it ? .

Winnall was a hot property not so long ago, he would get my vote but I would wonder why he hasn’t got himself fixed up somewhere yet. Probably because he is pricing himself out of league one.

I can't see why we can't sign Healey and then maybe Forss on loan or Hiwula on a free.

Not sure what your "is it really worth it" bit means.

Mentioned this before but best display I saw last season was us winning up here 4-3 at nearby Shrewsbury when JCH didn't play. However none of our 4 scorers that day;Sercs,Ollie,Milwall Tone or Ogogo are now with us,so we do need a couple up front who have to be way ahead of the loanee we had Timmy Abraham.

40 of Kachunga's appearances were in The Premier league mind, playing for one of the worse sides to have ever graced it. Lionel Messi would of struggled to score in that Huddersfield team. He scored 12 goals in The Championship for them when they got promoted to The Premier League though.

The same as they were doing when here. Nothing. UTG! The scout who recommended Justin Richards needs to have a look at himself, maybe they were a City fan in disguise. Didn’t he cost something like £250k yet hardly played a game? DC wasting money again !!!

If BG said that it is a massive risk !!. We already have a mass of defenders . We now have a big 'double ' problem up front. Historically: we always had a second striker like Kuffour Duffy who can score 10 a season. I posted this issue a few months back . We now start the season with 3 strikers who have scored 2 goals at this level in less than 10 games between them. Firstly: if there is any money at all ( you never know ) it must be on strikers . Secondly : we all hope at least some of this money could be for a nominal fee and some on good wages to attract a free agent. We need two strikers as an minimum . We have now created a massive challenge not only did we need one striker to partner JCH but now two . Sadly : I don't think things bode well unless two strikers are found and proven which is a massive ask . We know from last season that BG thinks he can work miracles with sod all, so his naivety makes me take him at his word that he thinks we can compete without a ball winning midfielder and without a striker with a proven pedigree at league level. I’m seriously concerned we are going to sleepwalk into a very tough season. Do you consider a ball winning midfielder = a defensive midfielder? If so hasn’t Grant come in to provide a bit more culture to that role?

The contract talks with JCH have been going on for sometime and everyday that went by without JCH signing it became clearer that he wanted to move elsewhere, so i am pretty sure the club would have realised this and have a replacement lined up.

I’d be prepared to wager we only bring in 1 striker which will be a loan. We looking to sign young players who we can develop and help us progress or sell them for good money. A loan would be a last resort in my opinion.
The club will want to sign someone who they think could be the next JCH. The best opportunity to make big money is with strikers.
Daly and Ayunga are probably on peanuts.
I wouldn't expect Daly to be on peanuts, most 23 players are on a few grand a week at Prem clubs

EFL ZONE @zoneefl · 2h Healey is wanted by Bristol rovers, deals possible due to Clarke-Harris departure Is this a half decent Twitter account or just your run-of-the-mill spreading forum speculation in the name of journalism?
