Stewart was an absolute stand out player immediately and became instantly undroppable, I hope Zain continues to develop but I think he’s a long way short of Stewart at the same age. I started watching Rovers in the early 80’s and Stewart was the biggest talent to come through the ranks by some distance. I see Zain as a bit part player this season, picking up minutes here and there any maybe getting starts in the Leland DAF. Leyland Daf? That finished in 93! 😁 Sorry. Meant Sherpa Van Trophy.

I just like the fact that he tries to make things happen. Tries a mazey run, comes back to get the ball, tries little tricks (okay, they don't always come off but unless you try you never know). Certainly not the new JCH, totally different sort of player. As someone said earlier, more like the snake although I think he will become more like a cross-breed between the snake and Billy. I have high hopes for the lad. He and Nicholson are rapidly becoming my favourite players to watch.

One thing's for sure, if he's half as good as JCH he'll be sold in January or the summer.

With a serious lack of attacking options available to us we could do a hell of a lot worse than giving this young lad some game time. He’s shown in the few mins he’s had this season that there is potential there and our bench the last few games there’s little attacking options to even bring on. I hope to see him in some match day squads going forward.

As opposed to the slow turgid performances and line ups of our last couple of games.

From what i have seen , not ready yet, for what its worth i think Tom Mehew is ready as could be Tomlinson ,from the bench in the latter's case, but although Mehew has an eye for a goal ( just like his dad!) this does not solve striker problem.

I said this to some friends, I mean people I would usually buy drinks for, on Saturday.
A bit of youthful exuberance and naivety could be what we need.
Remember when Ellis Harrison broke into the team and he did that outrageous cut in from the wing and finish from 20 yards. That’s the kind of thing we could do with.
I wouldn’t whinge at it and would rather see it than Ehmer playing right wing.

He clearly feels Ayunga is a better option, not sure there's a real issue over that decision.

But he didn’t start with Ayunga that’s my point. Rather than stick with the formation that was getting us wins and replace Sammy and Oz he changed to 541

Well in hindsight I’d rather he had tried absolutely anything else haha

Rather than stick with the formation that was getting us wins and replace Sammy and Oz he changed to 541 Yep he made a big decision to change shape and system rather than bring in someone like zain and it backfired massively but to then make that same decision again was baffling. And if he thinks sitting deep will work v posh he gonna get a nasty surprise. Posh weakness is defence time to fight fire with fire

Loan him back ,be good up front with Hanlan (and defending corners!)

Rather than stick with the formation that was getting us wins and replace Sammy and Oz he changed to 541 "getting us wins" was actually three consecutive defeats, Sheff Utd, Wimbledon and Charlton, PT's really damn if he does make changes, damned if he doesn't. I sense he tried to fit his first choice 11 players into the starting line up once he'd lost Nicko, Ozt along with Daly. It almost worked at Crewe but for some reason like we did at Swindon and MK Dons the players just didn't turn up yesterday. Perhaps they don't like traveling in a NE direction from Bristol!

Zain Walker could become a good player but he is not yet ready and it would be very unfair to burden him with the expectation of a very critical fanbase. Although he has a bit of speed, he has a habit of giving away unnecessary freekicks which means attacks break down far too often when he goes near the ball. But if he cuts that out, I can see him being ready next season as a regular squad player.

Agree with this, he just makes all the little mistakes you’d expect from a raw player which is absolutely fine. But throwing him in now will most likely do him more harm than good, I’m sure his chance will come when the time is right and we’ll see if he’s good enough
