The whole point of match day threads is to give us a decent single-thread focus for posts about each game, provide running commentary for the game itself, and we end up with a decent record of the game (which we are now archiving). The plethora of matchday threads being started doesn't really help this, and it's just gonna get tedious to keep track of, so please don't start any new threads until the morning of each match. Thanks.
'Build-Up' threads work in the build up to each match, but probably best not to start those until the previous match is done and dusted and we start getting news relevant to the next game. Thanks.

Also whilst we’re on the subject of Matchday threads, check out the new “Matchday thread” section of the forum, tirelessly put together by Antonio, that houses all of the match day threads since Gaschat was created in 2014. Have recently moved the pre season threads in there too, sorry for the shameless plug .

I'm sure we'll get back to normal after today. It's just blokes who haven't had a sniff of real action for months, then, when it comes along, they shoot their bolt too early.

They should surely only be allowed to start the day before - after the managers briefing. So many people want to be the one that starts it that they are getting earlier and earlier.
