What's everyone's teams for the Sunderland game this coming Saturday now we've signed Hanlan then?
For me, I'd switch to 4-3-3.
..................Jaakkola................... ............Kilgour...Ehmer................ Hare............................Tutonda... .................Upson....................... ........Grant...........Westbrooke...... Mitchell-Lawson...........Nicholson.. ...................Hanlan....................

Using the 3-4-3 that we will undoubtably go with, i’d go for the below. I think Little could do well for us on the right of a back three and have gone for the balance of left footed Harries on the other side.
Jaakola
Little Ehmer Harries
Hare Leahy
Westbrook Grant
Nicholson JML
Hanlan

I can’t see us going with a back 4 based on the season/pre-season so far. I’d go with this:
..................Jaakola
......Kilgour..Ehmer..Harries Hare..................................Tutonda
.......Westbrooke...Upson
Nicholson.........................JML ..................Ayunga
I think it will be too soon to start Hanlon and Ayunga deserves a go after Tuesday night. I think these 2 full backs deserve a start based on the attacking threat they offer.
The other tough one is who plays in the back 3, maybe if we can’t find the right combination we should give Grant a go in there, given that this was his main position previously.

I’m not sure Hamlan will start. I’d imagine Ayunga will keep his place after his performance. The back line scares me. Kilgour looked completely out of sorts again Ipswich and Baldwin looks a liability I’m afraid. I also get the feeling that Sunderland will know exactly how to exploit Baldwin. Barring a backs to the wall type performance, I can see is getting thumped whoever BG plays.

Sadly, if we stick with the 3-4-3 we'll be stuffed unless Garner can become more flexible if it's not working.
I'd go with a 4-2-3-1 playing the most experienced central defenders giving Kilgour a break as he hasn't started well.
Jaakola; Hare, Baldwin, Ehmer, Leahy; Grant, Upson; Nicholson, Westbrooke, Mitchell-Lawson; Ayunga

Jaakola Harries Ehmer Kilgour Tutonda Wesbrooke Grant Hare Nicholson Ayunga JML I think that is the most likely line up with the new guy coming on for the last 20 mins.

Jakkola Tutonda Kilgour Ehmer Hare Grant Westbrooke Upson Nicholson Ayunga JML I'm torn between having the 3-4-3 with the extra CB, or the 4-3-3 with an extra man in midfield. Its tricky as I think both leave the other position too light. Although you'd have thought the Ehmer and Kilgour should be able to take care of themselves at CB to allow BG to bring Upson in.

I would stick with Ayunga up top as he has been one of very few positives. Give Hanlan time to bed in, but I could understand starting him too as he has L1 experience.

That was going to be my team and I was going to write the same about Hanlon and Ayunga, so you saved me the trouble 😂. I would consider starting Baldwin as it's his former club, so he would have a point to prove and could have a blinder. But he's not done that well so far.

I know what you're saying but I think you've got to remove that and say he's been sh** so far. He's looked too much of a liability to trust. I think BG will start 3 at the back though so he could start.

Did anyone actually see anything in Tutonda on Tuesday to suggest he's any better than Leahy at present, for what is likely to be a tough away game?
Upfront I'd start with Ayunga, as I assume Hanlon has had a tough week if he's travelled up from London yesterday, undertone a medical etc and now needs to travel to Sunderland today?
(Actually looking forward to the game now!)

He will be familiar with the ground, pitch size etc and player's often have blinders against their former clubs. Think Ehlmer has to start in the middle of the three.

(Actually looking forward to the game now!) I thought he looked alright. I don't particularly rate Leahy, especially defensively. I wouldn't be too critical of starting Leahy over Tutonda as he does have more experience, and I fully expect he will start with Leahy. I would be disappointed if Tutonda can't dislodge him though as some point during the season. I am a little bit, It's the hope that kills you as they say. I expect to feel disappointed after about 60 minutes though. If we play well, I'll be the first one on here to praise the team.
