Mets is joined by Charles from the It’s all Cobblers to me podcast to look ahead to Saturdays game at the Mem. Rovers go into the game on a poor run of form. An opening day draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of light has been followed up with losses to Ipswich and Donny. Northampton on the other hand have fared a bit better. An opening day draw with Wimbledon has been followed up with a win against Shrewsbury and a loss against Hull. They chat about the hoofball under Keith Curle and the dangermen for the Cobblers. They also chat about the many Rovers connections that Northampton town, with chief among them being the return of Chris Lines to the Mem. A VERY long tangent about the ongoing missing money saga with the redevelopment of Sixfields is rounded off with score predictions for Saturday. Interesting to see how we deal with a team that are more 'direct' - thoughts?

Interesting to see how we deal with a team that are more 'direct' - thoughts? I think it will suit us. Alfie and Ehmer are both good in the air. You know Ehmer is up for a fight too! I wonder if we'll change shape to counter thier style?

If not then potentially Alfie at RB again?

Alfie might be ok if they are more of a direct team as he may not have to track a tricky winger - Maybe Hare was rested away so that he can play against Northampton and make a real difference?

Garner said he was just a little off full fitness. Maybe he'll go the other way and try and pin Northampton in thier half and attack them? Be nice to see us play on the front foot for the first time this season!

I guess with every week of full training since this pretty much new squad does together the more likely they are going to gel is... wishful thinking perhaps

Great insight into Northampton this. I was aware of their huge turnover but not sure who they'd brought in, so was good to get the intel on what they're all about.
This is the real test for Garner and the team now, a game we should be winning. If we've still got a mistake in us, I honestly can't see us scoring two plus goals to win the game.
A solid and uninspiring 1 nil victory for Rovers is my prediction/wishful hope - which I would be ecstatic about!

As long as it's not wet and windy Rovers shouldn't do too bad tomorrow.
