We are well aware this is a controversial one but... Our Podcast with Matty Taylor is now LIVE! 🎙 We take a look back at his time with The Gas and how he went from a misfiring striker to a clinical bagsman! We also take a look at how he made THAT move and the aftermath that followed it! Available on all major Podcast providers! open.spotify.com/episode/3ODZsGi7vhuDew6OZgQfBZ?si=VHC_BBygQMeH3xbO0JL4kw

It's quite a good listen so far guys Thanks, we think it’s interesting to hear his view on the move. Interesting revelation about the timing of the bid....not quite the deadline day ram raid we all thought!

When I saw the original post, I must admit I thought, Jeez I’ll give that a miss, but listened anyway. Really he is typical of most players nowadays, no loyalty to the club that gave him the opportunity & went for the pay day - can’t say I blame him really. Think there was probably more than he let on about the transfer, but h3 wouldn’t say anything else would he. Thought the guys led him on a bit to say he wasn’t in control of the ‘unveiling’ situation when he went there, I think he was naive at best. Wouldn’t wish him any harm but come Dec, unless we are all invited back to the Mem, I’ll be sat in the kitchen giving him dogs abuse via iFollow. Credit to you guys for the professional manner in which you conducted yourselves - I called him a lady garden at least 3 times whilst I was listening.

That’s a fair assessment, it was me who asked about the unveiling and he actually spoke over me as I was finishing off my line off questioning to him, I was mainly interested in the snake bit as I think that’s something he actively chose to be involved in and i think he went as near to an apology as we are likely to see. With regards to the release clause etc we wanted to discuss it but it’s something that was requested we didn’t talk about, I imagine that’s because there’s legalities around it etc.

Great listen guys. People need to get over it, he absolutely made the right choice as he personally isn’t a Rovers fan so why would he put the rivalry before his financial stability? He owed us nothing as he more than repaid DC for giving him a shot, with two promotions. He’s always welcome back in my books, real shame the majority won’t see it the same. I fear where we’d be right now without his goals.

Not quite sure why any Gas would want to listen to, interview, or even be in the same room as this piece of s**t!
(Although probably done on zoom, for social distancing, but you get my drift!)
Each to their own though, be a boring world if we were all the same.

Matte Taylor was never gonna be a City first team regular they only bought him to get the Crowd off of Johnson’s and must importantly for them put the brakes on the Rovers progress they didn’t want him they just didn’t want us to. I’m sure deep down Matty realises that, but it was the best move for him and his family. He is one of the best strikers at our level and I for one would welcome him back, he watered the Oxford fans off and they have forgotten all about that now he’s banging the goals in for them

Each to their own though, be a boring world if we were all the same. It’s an interesting listen. He still likes us, has a lot of fond memories with us and doesn’t regret any of it by the sounds of it. He also doesn’t regret the move, but who could blame him? He’s not a local lad and he tripled his wages if not more. If a rival company to yours offered you higher wages I’m sure you would take it. Very complimentary of DC like most players we hear from during his tenure here. When he was dropped for Chelsea despite being our top scorer for 2 years and in great form in League 1 he said DC talked to him, buttered him up and then said he wouldn’t be starting haha! Didn’t take it badly, the team were so close he was just happy for Ellis to get the nod. Realises his move means he won’t be liked by a majority of Rovers fans but he still looks out for our results and wishes us well. Personally I’m over it all, was watered off at the time but that’s football. The same people who scream loyalty are the same people who praised Ollie Clarke one year and then screamed for us to get rid the next.

Scored a lot for us helped by good support from team mates but he would not be my choice for that vital chance to fall to in an important game, missed a lot of 'easy' chances, at least 3 in Daggers game. do i blame him for leaving ? no, no one else seemed to be interested and this was his one chance to get the security we all wish for our families, BUT there are ways to go about these things and he was party to a very dubious underhand deal which left a very sour taste which tells you a lot about his character, not one who i could warm to but we have moved on and as far as i am concerned its Matty Who?

It was an interesting listen. I cannot forgive him for his leaving in the manner he went and who he went to but I do understand why he did it. If he had gone to any other club in a higher division, he would have left as a legend. As it is, he left a Judas.

It's quite a good listen so far guys Thanks, we think it’s interesting to hear his view on the move. Interesting revelation about the timing of the bid....not quite the deadline day ram raid we all thought! I read what the Snake said in the Post regarding the City bid. It seems to me they left it as late as they could so there would be just enough time to negotiate with the snake and his agent without any other club being able to hijack the deal. I believe from what was said at the the time that Rovers tried to get other clubs interested but there were no Championship takers at the Money the sh** were paying in wages. Add to that the fact the Snake wouldn't discuss the release clause fee and all you've got is a lying little sh** trying to make himself look as good as he could.

Grateful for the goals he scored for us. However that or anything he might say does not alter the fact he is still a snake who has slid back to the same level he was with us, having not made it at 1982. Guess he pocketed a few quid. Hope it makes him feel better about what might have been.

Oh Judas Snake, did your money make you better? Are you waiting for the hour when you can screw me? 'Cos you're big enough.
