Over 2,600 fans tuned in to watch our last league game on iFollow!
Have to admit I am disappointed so few are following Rovers on iFollow. I know it is not the same as being there, but I would have thought more would be watching. What I don't know if that was pay on the day or includes season ticket holders who have already paid, whichever still surprisingly low.

If so, there could well be others in the same household watching the same link. Hence the "over" reference.

I know quite a few people have had multiple season ticket holders around to watch matches, don't read too much into it. I'd be more interested in how many purchased iFollow passes.

Not sure that you can read too much into the figure mentioned. What I can say is that I wont be paying to watch on iFollow. Perhaps I need to grow a pair but I only 'enjoy' watching Rovers in person and find it incredibly difficult to watch them on tv. In terms of the latter, I spend most of the time pacing around the room and finding silly excuses to leave the room to attend to something. I just get too nervous and cant relax. Somehow, if I am actually at a game, I feel that I can in some small way influence what goes on on the pitch and at the same time, I have others around me trying to do the same. At home, its me alone sitting on the sofa with occasional interruptions from the missus asking me how they are doing. Are any others the same? If we are top of the league and beating everyone in sight, I might sign up but that has never really been the case since I have been watching Rovers and I have been a fan since 1970!

And this is why ifollow never used to be available at 3pm on a Saturday. I wonder if that included Northampton passes too.
Average that 2,600 at 2 viewers each and you get 5,200 which is still fairly low.

Unless you have any issue with it , I suggest beer and snacks.

More to the point how many of the 2,600 were season ticket holders, probably the vast majority, so fans actually paying £10 to watch the game must be in the low hundreds? We must be losing over £100K a match/over £2m a season, it makes you wonder how long lower league football can survive with these types of losses.

Looking around the mem on matchdays pre covid it was apparent that a high percentage of our support base is over 60. I know quite a few over 60s who havnt purchased i folllow passes as they simply don't know how to use modern technology to run it. Unfortunately the s**t are hoovering up all the local kids. Where I live all you see are kids in city shirts everywhere you go. Unfortunately we need to start working on getting youngsters back to the mem ( once restrictions are lifted ) or in the next 10 years I think we will see our attendances fall dramatically.

Perhaps it’s because ifollow is not that good. Commentary may as well turn it off, as the sound quality is rubbish.

3 adult season ticket holders and 2 kids season tickets. 6 of us watched from 1 account. Through the lap top to the big screen.

Which makes it even more surprising that so many fans want matches played behind closed doors until there is a vaccine. How long will we last even with our generous owner?

It does sound disappointing - what's happening with other clubs ?

I've tried linking the lap top to the TV via HDMI but the quality degenerates to almost unwatchable. So in these 2 posts that's 9 people watching from 2 accounts.

After the disappointing showing at Doncaster the week before, to get 2600 people to cough up. £10 was decent, hopefully a good result tomorrow will result in more fans paying for the next home fixture.

Does this 2600 figure include season ticket holders that got codes to access it? If it does, we've only made a fraction of the revenue that POTD home sales would normally generate.

I am sure I read that 1200 season-ticket holders used their access code for the Ipswich home game, so I would imagine a similar number for the Northampton match. Tom Gorringe would be the best person to ask for a breakdown of the viewing figures.
