great news,we have signed 2 up and coming young strikers, blissett for a fee and i imagine a 18 month or 30 month deal and goldberg on a see what happens 1 month deal,im really pleased the club/dc have gone down this route instead of the jermaine easter one,,,we all must know that neither of these guys are the finished article but for me there classic old style rovers signings so cant wait to cheer them on,,what do others think at this very early stage?

I'm pleased with both signings too.
There's been a lot of talk around getting a proven striker and no doubt if this doesn't work out people will say we should have pushed the boat out for Easter.
The fact is we've had some brilliant strikers over the years none of which were proven when we got them. Let's hope these two can deliver those missing goals!

In all honesty I had not heard of either of them prior to the Kidderminster game so just going to see what they offer

Agreed.
The truth is, pretty much every striker signed in the lower leagues is a gamble, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. White and Cunnington haven't worked so DC is trying something else.
Historic scoring rates are largely irrelevant as sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't. With a few exceptions, you look at the high scorers in the lower leagues at the moment Hylton at Oxford, Akinde before Alfreton, and their scoring rate is 1 in 5 or 6.
We have to trust our manager to predict who it will click with for us.

Very happy that for once the manager had addressed the problem in hand, which has been the same problem for years, goals goals goals, rather than just talking about it.
Not going to get too carried away just yet, but give them time to settle in and hopefully they can help be the scorers that we so badly need, to drive us up to challenge Barnet.

Don't forget we've also got Balanta on the verge of his first team debut plus Taylor putting in his best perfromance for a few weeks last weekend plus LDV and we suddenly have a very exciting front line with Harrison has back up.

You cant say he has addressed the problem before they play their first game. Goldberg has never played at our level and Blisset has the same number of goals as Taylor. I look forward to lots of posts about it after a few games if/when they are banging them in

It is good to see DC is freshening things up on the front line and I hope we have a 20 goals plus man in the team in Blissett or Goldberg to go alongside Harrison !

Probably Blisset will start first game but I really hope Goldberg is given minutes first match too (even if from the bench) - after all he is here for a month only and the likes of Taylor and Harrison have had many opportunities to become regular goal scorers but we must all admit have failed. Big test at Chester however tomorrow - beat Gateshead last week so It will be a test to see how many chances we actually create to help the new forwards.

i think generally the mood is cautious optimism which is understandable,,,what sort of fee do people think weve paid for blissett as his contract was out at the end of the season?
