Yeah totally . People generally keep their own personal business like wife and kids out of the limelight for obvious reasons. Does anyone really think that if having achieved what Cogs did with us that if Wael said he wasn’t happy and wanted him out Coughlan would cover Wael and blame it on family issues ? I suggest you go and listen to his post match interview after the Ipswich game again. If it was solely due to his wife & family then why did it matter if he thought he'd taken us as far as he could. Why do you suggest I listen to it again ? I heard him say it at the time. I dont need to listen to it again You don’t know why he said that and neither do I. I suggest you go back and listen to Wael and Coughlan and others at the club saying that he left because he needed to be closer to his family. Unless you know the exact reason for him leaving then why push on with this notion that he was pushed out ? Maybe he was but do you know for sure ? and if you were pushed out of your job would you blame family problems or your employer who was pushing you out ? At the end of the day he saved us , big time, we’d be fourth division now if he hadn’t stepped in when he did perhaps even conference again and he’s gone. I’ve got a lot of respect for him regardless of the reasons he left and I’m Looking to the future but I will say that having had him as manager of our club for a year and what he did for us I’m willing to take his word for what happened over yours alright Topper. I remember you questioning my honesty when I mentioned that my sister in law had died of cancer a few years ago so pretty much everything you say on here means nothing to me and your generally full of hot air and bullshit anyway so goodnight Topper.

Also Coughlan gave his reasons as he needed to be with his wife and kids. Yeah, everyone has a theory about why GC left, and that theory always seems to back up exactly what they think is wrong with the club. But, really, it's possible to take what he actually said about it at face value. He said he'd taken the club as far as he could, and implied that he wasn't getting the support he needed. I had great respect for him before he said that. Wael has been awesome in the dignified way he's always dealt with unfare criticism, and I for one would carry him down Gloucester road any day of the week!

Thank you Wael, can't wait to stand with you shoulder to shoulder watching our team together in an away end when this pandemic is over.

Wael has been awesome in the dignified way he's always dealt with unfare criticism, and I for one would carry him down Gloucester road any day of the week! There was no theory to GC. You have to remember that MS knew GC for a long time. It was MS who was insistent on the appointment because at the time, Hamer was still on the scene and wanted Steve Cotterill to take the job. Why would MS and Wael want to dispose of a guy who they had appointed who had saved us from relegation and taken us to 3rd in the league? Mansfield tapped up GC, he probably already had troubles at home and the nonsense about him taking us as far as he could in that post match interview was an emotional rambling he never should have started. He made his own job untenable during that very interview. Wael has faced a lot of criticism, backstabbings and unpleasant circumstances since his arrival, he’s dealt with each one with dignity and just gone about his business of running us and giving our club what it needs. We should thank our lucky stars right now we have an owner who can see us through this pandemic too!

So we have to accept he talked nonsense in his post match interview but he spoke the truth about his wife and family? The truth is he probably received an offer he couldn't turn down and it also happened to be nearer his family.
I just can't see Wael has happy to see the poor quality football GC side was producing, I'd certainly want better if invested £20m+ plus in a football club, I sense Mansfield's owner is probably now having similar views.
Today is probably the first game I've actually looked forward to watching us play, rather than just watching a game, since we sold Billy Bodin.

Agree with everything o p except first paragraph!
Wael should take alot more credit than he deserves as alot of the positive changes behind the scenes at the club have involved his direct input. For instance: some staff have been paid in full from furlough, he has made changes in directorship and senior management and he continues to be approachable.
Sometimes not everything has worked to plan, but if there's a right way to conduct an owner's role, Wael has been impressive so far..
