The speed of it suggests the hierarchy had already decided that this game was his last chance. Maybe also not the result but the manner of it.

Lol give it up - there's no way on earth he walked. I’ve never said I think it’s a certainty, I’m just speculating as the timing of the sacking was so unexpected. I don’t know why you so often try to be patronising to people you disagree with. Sad. Get a grip ffs. You made a point which you're entitled to do. People point out it was clearly not the case and you continued to try and keep making the same point. It was actually said in jest! But seeing as you're not taking it as such, fine - it's a crap point, move on.

I would be guessing of course, but I'm thinking Wael had already decided that he would be gone in the event of yet another defeat. BG would also have been aware that the writing was on the wall. The question is, did Wael warn BG that Saturday was deadline day? Maybe. Wael seems a very decent man who might not have wanted to deliver a sacking out of the blue. And maybe wanted to fire up BG in one last attempt to get things moving. Probably not though. It more likely went along the lines of a call from Wael to BG at about 5:15, which he was very tempted to let go to voicemail.

Well they should have read the forum then because if they had they would have seen it’s against the rules to judge him against teams who will finish in the top 6 😉

If I was BG and I read that open letter my ring piece would be twitching like a rabbit’s nose. There was no succour and comfort for the manager in that letter. That being said I think Garner has acted the whole time like a man who knows his job is safe. When has he ever thrown caution to the wind and made overly attacking subs in fear of saving his job? The Post article alluded to typical patterns being repeated, ie a lack of attacking impetus when losing so it suggests they have him enough rope to hang himself rather than warning him and risking him changing his ways just to keep his job.

He was relieved of his duties.
It appeared that BG was 100% positive that his style would be successful and once perfected rovers would climb through the leagues. It was just a matter of keep going until eventually the players master it or they are released. A philosophy that can work if you are running a youth academy or reserve team. Not with a first team that is expected to finish above mid table as standard.
One lesson BG could take is put your methods into the youth and u21 teams. Just tinker and tweak as you go along with a first team that was able to win matches.

No way did Garner resign.
We had some very worrying results prior to Saturday and conceded 3+ goals at home in 4 games against sides no better than us on paper.
My guess is that Wael loaded the gun after the Donny game where we were well and truly outplayed and saturdays inept defensive display was the final straw.

No. Was it the referees decision to sack him? VAR was not required. He may have pointed to where he wanted it played but the ref missed it
