Mets caught up with Rich from the Loathed Strangers podcast to preview Saturdays game against Swindon at the County Ground. It’s been a tumultuous week for Rovers. A 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Fleetwood cost Ben Garner his job. Breaking news from this afternoon is that Rovers have appointed Paul Tisdale on a two and a half year deal. Swindon have had their own manager roundabout with John Sheridan leaving Wigan to join after Richie Wellens has left to join Salford City. Rich talks about the defensive mistakes that have cost the robins this season and the struggles of filling an Eion Doyle shaped hole in their squad. A bit of a tangent where they talk about fans not being able to go to games and score predictions for the game. Can you do one of your team stat reports like you did for fleetwood mate?

He makes a great point about how, in hindsight, it would have been better to load all the "derby" fixtures towards the end of the season.. in the hope that we would have fans back in some capacity by then. There is certainly an argument to be had that we get some kind of advantage playing the away part of this fixture "behind closed doors"...
I had genuine sympathy for the bloke when he talked about the state of their club. Another reason to be thankful that, despite our poor run of results, we have owners who want the best for the us and seem to have a clearly defined strategy to achieve it.

Can you do one of your team stat reports like you did for fleetwood mate? Sure thing. gaschat.co.uk/thread/17097/expect-swindonShame that Wednesday stats dont change ours for the season as we did a lot of attacking and i think i saw about 10 shots on target too! Hopefully we can do that against Swindon

Their defence looks worse than ours and their keeper looks worse than JVS from those highlights. Got to go at them tomorrow I’ll be surprised if we set up cautiously.
