I was watching ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ on Netflix the other night when some catchy music played in the background which I vaguely recognised. I did a Shazam and found it was called ‘Classical Gas’, ironically from the album ‘Longtime Blues’ With some clubs adopting tunes such as Liquidator, maybe this should be added to our playlist for the appropriate moment?
Sorry, you may have to skip through the adverts on this link:

1968 if I'm not mistaken, it was quite a big hit, certainly top ten but we wern't really known as the Gas in those days so there was no obvious connection. It was quite a few years later before our 6-fingered 'friends' gave us that name and of course we had to return the compliment by giving them a similarly apt name !!

Well worth a watch. Oh and agree on the music too.

Yes that's better but still think it's too classical than pop. I'm sure Sabadell would like the intro though.

For any younger forum users, here’s where “singing the blues came from
And “we are the rovers boys”. Warning - this is a sectarian song and if this offends please don’t listen. Added just for historical interest
You are my rovers

A darn good choice and a lot better than some of the rubbish we have run out with.

This is what a pre match song is all about, where everyone can remember the words I have a very pro Celtic pro RA acquaintance who is borderline obsessed and vocally hates everything british. I hum a certain tune about, well, building something, and building it high. I don’t have an interest in any of this, it’s just purely out of spite!

Loved the Daniel Amalm version! This music definitely needs to be on the pre-match playlist... and at half-time... and full-time...
