Do you know all you say or you just guessing? There are literally articles in the BP from the last few weeks in the summer transfer window where Garner is quoted saying he wants more attackers. Read your posts out loud and try not to laugh...”as you know garner didn’t want an experienced striker” 🤣🤣 Ask any manager in the world, at any standard, in any league if they would like an experienced goal scorer and they would rip your arm off!! Ridiculous actually ridiculous Garner also said it wasn't essential..... he talked about forward thinking players, not strikers and I said he believed he had e experience with Hanlan and Nicholson. The formation he was playing also was with one up top and with Hanlan, Daly, Ayunga and Nicholson - where would another striker fit in? He also had 2 or 3 development squad p,Ayers that he highly rated and was looking to integrate into the squad more. Hence Garner focused on midfield and wing backs... Yes managers and clubs always want more but it wasnt essential in Garners eyes.... and maybe I've written my post wrong and you've taken it literally - I meant he didnt want ANOTHER highly experienced striker as he felt we had that experience already and getting one would be expensive, especially in wage terms! Now I could be wrong but it's my recollection of discussions, stuff I was told, what was in the press and what makes sense to me.

Look back at the press articles and his press conferences etc. Absolutely nothing about not wanting a / another experienced forward.

Look back at the press articles and his press conferences etc. Absolutely nothing about not wanting a / another experienced forward. I know we didn’t but my (and it may be a misperception) understanding from everything I read and everything that was in the pre and post match conferences as well as how we played etc etc was that Garner thought we had experience there - Hanlan an established League player who had played a lot of League One games the previous season, Nicholson who had played a lot of football in SPL and America and then Ozzy who we already know what an established and experienced League player he is.... That’s not to say if the right player was available at the right price we wouldn’t have gone for them but Garner was desperate for one. Now with hindsight (and to be fair all of us at the time) we know that that was naive and maybe not the right choice and to some extent were suffering for it now (although to be fair it’s more our defensive frailty causing the issues as well as our lack of clinical finishing and goals)

The club should be more informative with supporters, then it stops all the silly postings that can make the club look bad, unprofessional and a shambles like some say, some posters who ain’t got a clue but get believed by some and things then escalate into absolute rubbish.

Lol, I know there's a tendency on here to post utter sh**e, and to blame the club for nearly everything, but blaming the club for the utter sh**e that gets posted is class.

Not blaming the club, just saying that if they were more informative on things going on at the club perhaps not so much sh.t would get posted wouldn’t stop it all though I’m afraid 😱

Swindon Towns finances on the brink according to Lee Power. Yet they still managed to sign 6 players I saw that and thought exactly the same thing. I know they sold a player to Charlton to give themselves some ready cash I presume. And the signing would be frees except for wages. But still a strange combination and stops you having any sympathy. Not that I care about Swindon but once the first club goes down I would expect others to follow. UTG!

I never have any sympathy for Swindon they won promotion from L2 by spending money they didn't have. At least they may be 1 club we have a chance of finishing higher than?!

What happens if a club goes bust. Are their players free agents that can be signed?
