Once again someone forgot to tell the paper that there were 2 Bristol Football matches played last night. The Rovers KO 7pm. However once again not a mention in this mornings paper. This happens on any evening games be it football or Rugby. Sorry WDP the situation we are in is no excuse. All the nationals cover these games. Try listening to Radio Bristol live to edit a summary of the game. By the way quick to report on any political news From the same night! Whose interested in you trying to fill your pages 48 hrs later. Now fed up and cancelling my delivery.

Western daily press and the evil post just as bad as one another Both Crap journalism ,misleading headlines and both consider the unwashed from BS3 to be the only football team in Bristol

I always find these sorts of threads fun, you get them on ours and City's forums. They claim bias against their club, and toward their rival. In fact you get it on every football club's forum. Ah, football fans.

Ah, football fans. You genuinely think the BP's coverage of BRFC is to the same level as their coverage of BCFC?

Ah, football fans. Yeah agreed. It's always been the case over the years, city always say we get more coverage then they do and vice a versa with our lot. Only time I can really think it might have had some substance to it was with yeovil on BBC radio.A few years ago they were getting as much air time or live coverage of games over us for a period when they were above us in the football pyramid. But I guess its called Radio bristol and somerset sound for a reason! 😂 Tbf I haven't brought a Evening post or WD press for years now! They just seem pointless like every other paper in the world.

If there's a big story surrounding one club or the other, obviously coverage will be heightened at that time but generally I'd say the coverage is of a similar level.

Perhaps a controversial opinion but I’ve never had a problem with the print BP coverage of BRFC, the odd spelling mistake here or there sometimes but generally its fine. City are prominent on the back page a little bit more but if Rovers have something significant happen to them, they will get the headline article. It’s the website BP that I try to avoid unless there’s a Q+A as it’s usually full of annoying ads and click bate titles.

If you think the coverage is roughly the same go online to Bristol Live which is BP's online site. Don't click on Rovers at the top of the page, just scroll down the main page until you come to their sports coverage, or should I say darkside coverage, plenty about them, naff all about us! That's how it is everyday unles something major happens to us like we sack a manager, then we might get a paragraph.

Yeah, I don't think I've read the print version for about twenty years (except waiting at takeaways), I only ever see the website.

My local co-op sells a decent variety of daily papers....
What's weird is that if you go down there at 7 - 8pm the whole lot looks pretty much untouched....

Articles on the front page of the Bristol Live website will be revenue driven, City's articles will garner more hits so have been stuck on the front page. Just because our articles are one click further away doesn't mean that we receive any less coverage, just that we don't make the group as much money.

Think daily papers are probably a generation thing, i always get mine, but then again i do not do social media so dont have my head stuck in a phone all day, each to their own, local papers are not what they used to be, used to have 2 or 3 editions a day at one time and were your only link to local issues but now there are so many alternatives they are becoming unviable. For coverage of west country football, which ever your fancy, the weekly Sunday Independent is as good as any. Used to love getting Green un ,so impressive how quick they got them on the streets with reports on every one from Rovers to Cadbury Heath, St George, and every other local team, incredible stuff!

Stopped using the Western Daily as the print kept rubbing off - we won a tenner on the lottery and the wife bought a few rolls of Andrex instead.

No sniggering please, but I genuinely get most of my up to date news from this forum (not sure about Bennet’s alleged wages though). Rarely do I go to Bristol live or the official website unless to double check something.

Years ago when Gordon Bennett was secretary they used to count the words on reports from the city and Rovers games, and if City got more than ten more than rovers they used to phone the Post up to complain 😁
