Just watching a bit of an A League match from Sydney on BT Sport. Most of the stadium uncovered and some fans even sat on the grassy banks around the stadium having picnics in the sun! But at half time lightning began to strike and the break has been extended to an hour! Reminded me of the infamous Wycombe game that got abandoned, but has this ever happened at a Rovers match or a game in the UK that anyone can remember?

Was at Orlando City game a few years ago where we had 2 lightning breaks and the game didn't finish until midnight. Fortunately the humidity meant we dried out very quickly!

A friend who was American told me of one game he played in. It started to rain and the opposition just walked off he pitch. It transpired that the team had played in an absolute downpour at some time, lightning struck and four players died.

Crikey, I bet the atmosphere was electric though?

I remember a particular game at Swindon away a few years back. I think a few of us got a little wet before the ref called it off at half time...

We’ve had a few unusual delays with the officials this season. Oxford last week(?) with the injured linesman, the ref needing to change his kit in another game, and wasn’t there a third incident as well earlier on in the season?

I remember a game vs Reading away at Elm Park (think it was Jimmy Quinn destroying us 2-0 or 3-0) and we must have had every type of weather imaginable in the time we were stood behind the goal.
