I remember that game. Steve Kindon was superb for Wolves, tearing us apart with speed and power. David Williams scored a screamer and the Wolves fans took the p*ss cheering it. Yeah, I remember all that alright. My mate & I were speechless at the end of the first half. BUT, I was at Molyneux when Denis Rofe's team won easily (3-2) midweek. Andy Reece was superb in MF. UTG I spoke to Steve Kindon about it several years ago and he couldn't remember a second of it which disappointed me.

Mansfield home the season we went down must rank as the ultimate embarrassment given that they had nothing to play for and we only needed to avoid defeat to stay up. Relegating us whilst wearing our away kit also ! To this day , that is the most embarrassing moment for me supporting the gas.

I didn’t see last night but in my 50 years of watching the worst two were York away, 4-1, McGee’s last game thankfully. And Cambridge away, 6-1 in. Friday night in what is now the Championship. Both gutless performances. We lost to City 4-1 at home in the mid 70s, that was bad. And Wolves stuffed us at home in the same decade. We will rise again. 5-1 Boxing Day Wolves

I watched the Wolves game from the Tote End.Im not sure that Rovers were that bad,it was more the fact that Wolves were outstanding.Their forward three of Alan Sunderland,Steve Kindon and John Richards tore us apart and they looked like scoring every time they attacked.

In recent times I’d say
Crewe destroying us home and away and a shocking Charlton putting 5 past us
Last night was worse than them
