Going into the new millennium we had never been as low as the fourth tier. The season before we had even looked like going up to the 2nd tier again, before dropping down over the last few months.
We were then relegated to the fourth tier for the first time in 2001.
Ten years later we were relegated to the 4th tier for the 2nd time in 2011.
Ten years on in 2021............

Following a water shed 6-1 defeat at Accrington we put together an uplifting run of results and finished the season comfortable mid table!

Some home truths: 1) It has always been pretty hard being a Gashead 2) I will still wear one of my Rovers covid masks when shopping in Sainsburys in Trashton. 3) F##k it ! There's always the next game.

It'll be only a matter of time before this is mentioned in the media.... Good story for them....

When I first watched Rovers (1974) and up until 2001 I always thought we were a third-tier team with occasional forays into the second tier. This was our natural level. Since 2001 our natural level now seems to be the fourth tier. Maybe we are "enjoying" an occasional foray into the third tier!

I can remember an article saying us and Plymouth Argyle were the only teams at the time, to always stay in the middle two tiers of the football league.
