Fleetwood (A) Oxford (H) Swindon (H) Portsmouth (H) Gillingham (A)
Games coming up thick and fast, how many points does everyone think we will get out of the next 5? Three home games, including one against fellow strugglers Swindon but Oxford/Portsmouth games look very tricky and Fleetwood and Gillingham aren’t places we traditionally don’t do well at either. Tisdale’s got to be arresting the current poor form if he wants to stay in a job.
My Prediction:
Fleetwood L Oxford L Swindon W Portsmouth L Gillingham D

LLDLL Can't see anywhere we can improve, and to cap it all, Swindon are starting to put together some good displays. Oh the ignominy.

Is predicting 4 points from the next 5 games considered optimism now Sadly yes. Normally when we are on a bad run although it’s hard to see things changing something always does and we turn the corner. The chemistry, or should I say lack of, between manager and players, a complete lack of confidence and shell shock make it hard to see us picking up a point let alone 3 from any games at the moment. Last night must be the lowest day since the Mansfield game sent us to the conference?

I’m basing this on the hope that the players have been ripped a new one, are hugely embarrassed by last night’s performance and we do see a positive reaction. Oxford - L ..... sadly I think they are just a lot better than us this season and have the right aggression and penetration to win Swindon - W...... they are struggling like us. I’m hoping and think that our quality is better than theirs but it will be close! Portsmouth - D ...... I think we’ll be up this one and ‘after a win’ will have a bit of confidence Gillingham - L .... we always struggle against Steve Evans teams.... I appreciate that many on this forum may now think that I’m delusional

I think it comes a close runner up to the Braintree away game in 2014, I thought we were finished as a football league club after that.

Sadly, I cannot see a single point from those, unless the fringe players are brought in and we switch to simple, backs-to-the-wall grinding out points until we gain enough confidence to start slowly mixing it up again.
I'd leave Ehmer, Day, Grant, Westbrooke and Williams out at an absolute minimum, possible Leahy as well. I'd also leave Hanlan out if we had a viable alternative up front, which sadly at the moment we don't unless Daly is fit.
If the following are fit, I'd go with:
JvS Little-Baldwin-Kilgour-Leahy Hargreaves-Liddle/Ogogo/Upson (depending on whoever is fit) Nicholson-Oztumer-Koiki Daly

Jomo, Liddle has looked terrible and Hargreaves is about bath City standard- put this with Upson and Ogogo both out injured. Not convincede JVS is any better than Day and why play Kilgour when he was individually to blame for three goals last night? Id go for
Day
Williams Baldwin (Capt) Little/Grant Tutonda
McCormick
Nicholson Westbrooke Oz
Hanlon Daly

Confidence will be low. I can’t see us getting anything more than a point from those games. We will lose the away games for sure.

If nothing else perhaps we saw the value of Upson and Ogogo to our team last night. But as they’re injured perhaps it’s a case of you don’t realise what you’ve got until it’s not there. (Craig, even Ollie C would fit into that bracket as well). As to the next 5 games, yes I think we could get a point on Saturday unless Fleetwood get a new manager bounce. A win against Swindon will be vital. I hope the players can discover some character and determination by then. 5/6 points looks almost impossible after last night but it’s a strange game. And I’m always optimistic!
UTG!

Dont bother turning up and take the hit of a 3 0 loss. Which would be be a better result then having these chancers on the pitch

If we play like last night we won't get a single point. Tisdale has to make the changes or it be more of the same dross. Are we able to recall Tomlinson as he is home grown as such and wont add to the squad limit

Only thing I have come up with so far is 4-1-4-1 formation and pump it a bit longer to Ayunga or down the channels. Hargreaves, Grant and McCormick snap away at the heels and then play in Hanlan / Nicholson who run at the opposition instead of receiving the ball with their backs to goal. Cause panic and gaps etc. Whip balls into Ayunga who is our best aerial threat up top and get him that experience we need him to have... no point in saying he isn't a league 1 player... he has to learn like all of them... and quick. Maybe Ehmer can do a DM role so that if he gets done then someone is behind him this option as cover for when Grant gets tired etc. Options off the bench include Hare, Barrett, Tutonda, Leahy, Walker and Rodman on the wings and Daly up top and Westbrooke and Liddle in the middle. When you peel it back and look at our options it looks even more scary.

We really have to get something at Fleetwood and kick on from there every games for us is a cup final from here on. The boys have got to use the humiliation of last night to fight for a result Saturday.

I appreciate that many on this forum may now think that I’m delusional I think we might need a ground-breaking goal at some point. A positive run is needed. Clearly 15pts in next 5 games would be out of the question or is it? From what I saw last night 15pts is highly unlikely. We do need to put a run together, sometime. If not now, when. I think 12pts is stretching for this team. Best we can hope for realistically is three wins from five games. A security goal would be six points or less. We got problems for sure. All games are now must wins. This team can win. They need to give their all for the shirt. The premiership u23 wannabes now need to shine. The time is now not in a few weeks time. Come on.....
