I get the impression (and I could be wrong) that the reply to the Instagram post wasn't local so not sure how much the authorities can do
on another depressing note, we need sort out sh** like this which is probably closer to home

Absolutely awful - Sadly though Society has neanderthals like this lurking in the depths, adding nothing but pain and upset to people or looking at a way to do damage to morale or bend the rules.
We don't know it was a Rovers fan - shocking anyway.

Terrible. About time the Facebooks and Twitters of this world did something about this.
I'd be in favour of identity verification for social media accounts.

It is a massive shame that a lot of bad stuff that happens on the internet could've be at least reduced had the people who developed certain platforms put a bit of thought behind the systems they're developing.... I guess they just wanted maximum traffic irregardless.... Which is regrettable....

Pretty sure there’s a series of fake accounts abusing players. Have heard of similarly named accounts attacking players of other clubs - perhaps even city but can’t recall.
As said a real supporter wouldn’t abuse our own players in such an unpleasant way.

It looked like it might be an account from abroad and as someone said earlier, there seems to be people in Eastern Europe setting up accounts to abuse black players in England. I think Diehdiou got a similar tweet and it turned out to be from Turkey maybe. Anyway, hopefully the police investigate and if it’s someone they can prosecute then they will.

I think the mods of this forum, have the ability to change certain words automatically so that other words appear on the final post. It should not be beyond the whit of man to not allow any social media post that has racist/xenophobic/homophobic/presidential etc content to appear on their platforms. They should be jointly culpable with the poster. If they allow it they should be prosecuted or blocked from being accessible in the country that has the problem (again, easy to do). Sounds a bit harsh? So are the problems their platforms CAN cause.
