Hardly news that benefits the majority of clubs in leagues 1 and 2 and I include us in that majority. It’s meat and drink to badly run clubs like us and Sunderland so we can rack up heavy debts again chasing mediocrity. Accrington can do with £5000 what we can’t do with a million and instead of trying to be like them the clubs take the cop out option of demanding their right to spend their way to success. It’s like treating depression with a drink and drugs bender. Suggest you read the article, then read it again to make sure you understand it, as it's clear it's the PFA who challenge the decision not the clubs, I'm pretty sure Wael publicly supported the salary cap as well.

Is it going to make a blind bit of difference to us and the other ‘smaller’ clubs in our division and below if you read paragraph 5? "FL Turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity. Loans from club owners are understandably not included in the Turnover figure as these would result in growing up club debts. In League 1 and League 2, a wealthy owner can therefore fund the club spending in a way that is not permitted in other divisions" www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.phpBut no club is going to have a £3m turnover this season, I assume most will make £1m+ losses?

Clubs will presumably have to rely on donations from the owners.

My bad, but then you say that but clubs do of course still have the option of following the rules of the salary cap even if it doesn’t officially exist in law anymore. Nothing is forcing them to spend beyond their means again- however we all know they will and it will be business as usual with more clubs going the way of Bury. Then the PFA will complain about their members contracts being ripped up when clubs go bust. C’est la vie.

Rovers voted for the salary cap as did the majority of clubs. The players Union no doubt with the backing of the big bollocks clubs have now managed to get it overturned. Could well be the death nail of a number of smaller clubs.

The thing about income that I've been thinking about, and its defo worth a thought....
Let's hypothetically say Rochdale play Sunderland on a tuesday night, attendance might get somewhere near 4000, but now with ifollow there's a good chance that same game could generate over 20000 payments so it could actually be generating more cash with fewer staff costing overheads....
Not sure how the cash gets split, but just a thought that many clubs might actually benefit from lockdown....

Pretty sure it still mostly goes to Sunderland, there's some complicated way the money's split, something like the home side get the usual 500/ 1,000 away fans subs the rest goes to the away side. Anybody think this is like turkey's voting for Christmas, as if clubs now go bust then players won't have any income at all?

I bet in the future there will be a vote by EFL members on the continuation of live streaming platforms....

Lets all panic, now the salary cap is off lets sign a non contract player. Lets sign an aging journeyman player whose over the hill with suspect fitness. I know it's the worst case scenario but perhaps, just perhaps it might work. Not sure if it has been done before but it might just work. I've trawled the EFL clubs history books looking for pointers to see if it works without much success, then suddenly I spotted this little story tucked away in the vaults. A certain club struggling for survival signed a 36 year old striker who played carrying his zimmer to stay upright due to his injuries and was carried off on a stretcher after each game. He somehow managed to play 12 games and scored 6 goals preventing relegation. He is a the club's hero his name Andy Rammel, just for the younger Gas fans that club is Bristol Rovers. Never give in keep the faith

Obviously not ideal in all circumstances and not even sure how realistic, but some of the 'better' ones are Yaya Sanogo, Krisztian Nemeth, Aron Johannsson, Arni Vilhjalmsson, Tom Huddlestone, Chris Brunt, Joe Ledley, Nathan Dyer, Marc Pugh, Will Buckley, Ravel Morrison, Harry Forrester, Nathan Tormey, Henri Ogunby, Aidan Barlow, Colin Odutayo, George Thorne and Nathan Oduwa.

Burton Albion have signed former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne until the end of the 2020-21 season.
The 33-year-old ex-England Under-21 international has joined after a two-year spell with Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in America.

Fair play, rock bottom but still doing all they can to try and get out of it. Bravo
