I would people moan about his football but we were winning and knocking on the door and the alternatives trying to play beautiful league one football haven’t exactly managed it have they he would get in their faces and turn tremulous boys into men or die trying and he wouldn’t cost much either can’t blame him for wanting to be with family he’s not burnt a bridge with me anyway I'm confused is Sheffield any closer to Bristol than it was before? I don’t know I havent measured it But being unemployed in Sheffield or employed in Bristol kinda focuses the mind I would suggest and this time we have a training ground which was one of his bug bears

I wouldn't want him back personally; he has already proven to be untrustworthy as proven in the way he engineered his move away with that interview after the Ipswich game. Also failed with a big budget in the league below.

No Barton please!!!!!!
We are not a thuggish or cheating team.
We must all remember the Fleetwood home games last few seasons? Would you want our club manager and players to behave like that?
There are far better managers around?
Personally I think Wael as manager could probably do a much better job?
We all hate teams like Wycombe because we sing Always Cheat......? Do we want that?
Managers like Pearson, VillaManager, etc. who are tough in the background! That’s what we need!
But most importantly we need coaching staff who can teach this current crop of players how to defend, how to mark (especially the posts at corners), not to have 7/8 defenders in the 6 yard box, how to control a ball, how to pass a ball5 yards on the ground, how to head straight, how to kick the ball down the touchline without it going out, how to throw a ball legally, hope to shoot and hit the target, how to take set pieces, use only 2 men at corners if u r going to actually use the spare one, etc etc
Maybe someone like Ellis coming back could do us and him a world of good?
The Only Way Is Up But the Plastic Player Population needs to be toughened and Tefaled up!

Would anybody want Barton here? i wouldn't be adverse to it. Fleetwood played some ok stuff under him. We always struggled anyway! In a backs to the wall scenario he seems the perfect fit. Anyway all wonderment as we have PT and his inspirational umm... err.... coat! Never in a million years. The man is poison. He is a thug and I for one would keep away from the Gas until he was gone. Having Barton at the club would be the biggest mistake in the history of Rovers.

When DC left I posted something about the managers we had between the more successful ones (Francis to Ward, Holloway to Trollope and Trollope to DC) with a managerial merry go round of three short term appointments and a series of caretakers.
With Coughlan, Garner and now Tisdale, that makes the three so we should now be about to appoint 'the right man'. Let's hope so anyway.

Does anyone else think this is a lie: "Ched Evans, I'd had enough of him. He just wasn't performing on the pitch and I felt we needed to improve in that position".There's defo more to it than that.... JB is being somewhat diplomatic and concealing his real agenda.

As far as I know, he's kicking his heals at home in Sheffield at the moment.
Offer a deal to the end of the season with an option for both parties to extend if agreed at the end of the season.
There are no guarantees, but he'd hit the ground running, whereas anyone else would take time to come up to speed.

I can't believe any club would risk employing Barton when he could be convicted and, if so, then sent to prison in the summer, what if he kept us up, planned all our summer recruitment, then was sent to prison and we had to then find yet another replacement manager? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-52881290

I think Joey did a great job at Fleetwood considering it was his first managerial role. Look how their results have fell away since he left (before last night) and if all the games we have had v Fleetwood over the past three years, what we played against on Saturday was the worst Fleetwood team I’ve seen.. I can remember watching their play off games v Wycombe and nothing went right for them, the keeper threw a few in, red cards, bad penalty calls etc, but they still played really good football all the way through and the players seemed to be playing for him. The us against the world mentality rarely fails to work. I’d love it to happen.

Well we do need another striker. Even if we stay up i would 100% be expecting us to sign one.

Well I would take Joey Barton right now for sure. He can’t do any worse can he? He may give the players a kick up the backside which is what everybody says we are missing. Problem is he surely want a longer contract than one until the end of the season. He will likely get plenty of offers from other league one clubs soon. Yeah he wouldn’t risk it at the moment , neither would Paul Cook or any of the other biggish names that are being banded about. If we get to the end of the season and we’re still a league 1 club then perhaps but for now I think the most likely appointment will be a contract until the end of the season.
